I was a really good eater as a kid but disliked peas. Love them fresh now, although in a can still not so much.

Curry/chilli/spicy food - hated it then with a passion, but love it now (so long as it's not TOO hot :eek:nfire: ).

I first tried blueberries as a kid too, and hated them (I think they'd only just become available over here), but love them now :yummy:

On the whole, though, I was a much better/less fussy eater as a child than I am as an adult :anon:

Oh, just remembered - I used to HATE peanut butter when I was a kid, but like it (and most nut butters, for that matter) now :)

No, I ate all foods when I was a kid, and eat everything now. Am partial to hot and spicy though, I make my own salsa and grow my own peppers because I can't get it hot enough! I love onions on everything too!

I wasn't fond of peach dumplings as a child, but I like them now. Other than that, I really can't think of much that I didn't eat then, but do eat now. I'm pretty much a foodie. I didn't and still don't care for canned vegetables.

I went through phases as a kid. At one point, I LOVED mustard, put it on everything. Hated mayo. Then I started to LOVE mayo and put it on everything, and hated mustard. Or maybe it was the other way around. But anyway, now I like both but I don't put them on everything :tongue2:.

It's natural for kids to be picky, as they have more sensitive taste buds. It's also a survival mechanism to prevent some poisonings. But Americans tend to beat it out of their kids (literally or metaphorically), which is horrible, but also very ingrained in the culture :(. People act like a picky kid is going to grow up to be a terrorist or something :/.

My mother said she used to catch me sitting behind the couch with a spoon and a large jar of French's yellow all the time. Evidently, I was a mustard head back then, too. I dearly love mustard now. There're usually 7-8 different kinds of mustard in our fridge, all for me.

I wasn't allowed to be a fussy eater as a child, but carrots just...I couldn't do them, try as I might, even as an infant.  I love them now, but I'm a little fussy about how they are cooked when served alone as a side dish.

That said, I loved Brussel sprouts when I was a kid, and I loathe them now.

I went through a phase where I couldn't stand pasta tomato sauce. I grew out of it in a year and now I look forward to my mom's sauce!

I've always been a good (healthy) eater, even as a kid. With that said though, I did not like anything sea food. When I was around 7 or 8 years old, I started to like canned tuna but that was about it. Now I like tuna (especially fresh!), salmon, flounder, lobster, clams, crabs, etc. I still hate shrimp and oysters. :D

i think it's mostly the other way around for me, there are many foods i loved as a kid that i either don't like as much or dislike. when i was a kid, i considered candy and cookies and chips a food group. as an adult, i pretty much never eat candy (just an occasional lollypop from the bank), and carefully limit cookies and chips. highly processed foods and frozen prepared meals are things i liked as a child, but steer clear of as an adult -- out of preference, and a belief that home cooked meals are much better for me/my health.

black olives might be a food that i'd like as an adult, that i definitely did not like as a child -- but i haven't felt motivated to try them as an adult. i absolutely adore green olives though, especially when they're stuffed with pimentos.

The only thing I can think of  is raspberries.  I hated them as a child, I would spit out anything that even had raspberry flavor in it.  They aren't a favorite of mine now but they are okay and I will eat them.

There are things that I didn't like as a child and I still don't care for.  For me it's usually about texture.  I don't like nor will I eat oysters.  I also don't care for plums or apricots, it's not the flavor but the texture that I don't care for.

About the only thing I didn't like as a child but do now is cornbread. I didn't like pork chops either, but they were much, much greasier than they are now. I definitely did not like the fat.

Most of the other things I didn't like back then, I still don't like: beets, cooked cauliflower, turnips, rutabagas, turnip greens. kale, mustard greens. Good ol' Southern cooking, larded with bacon grease and served with cornbread!
