Strange things about my cat

Something strange about my cat is that I know my cat is capable of eating on his own when his hungry but seems like every time I am at the kitchen he eats his food. I often when I see him eating move out of the kitchen so he can eat since like the dishwasher is next to him so I don't want to bother him when his eating but if I wait and let him finish and he comes out so I continue to take the dishes but then he comes eating again so I leave again and wait and then he comes out and same thing happens again.

Also a lot of times for example when I' am lets saying going to the bathroom he would go there and I know his litter box is there so I say you can go use it but he doesn't use it so then I leave the area and he comes to my room and say the bathroom is over there but he doesn't go. I know the only reason he would go to his litter is if he wants to use it. Also other things are I keep thinking he had all the time to go upstairs but he doesn't until I do. If he needed to eat upstairs he could of gotten there before me. It's really strange but this has been going on for years. Trying to figure out why he doesn't do normal things.

He's not strange.  My two do it every time I go to the kitchen if there is food in their bowls.  It doesn't matter if I had been in there only five minutes before, if I go in the kitchen, they appear from wherever they were hanging out and eat a few bites.  It happens all the time at my house too!

I think they believe if I'm in the kitchen, they are supposed to eat.  They DO actually go eat on their own without me being in there, but it seems if I'm in there, they come in and nibble.  They don't do it if my husband goes in the kitchen though, I guess I'm just the food lady!

Well my cats food bowl is always there so he could of eaten it anytime day or night also I always thought he was hungry that's why he hurries to his bowl at times when I am arrive there. His water bowl is there also. Problem is that I try to wait for him to finish and leave the area but he keeps returning back after eating so I get confused if his still hungry or not. Do I just have to wait till he finishes then take dishes out of washer? All I can say is that he could of ate before I did take the dishes out of washer but I just felt it was strange he doesn't eat until his full.

Also other thing about is as I said before he had all the time to eat while I was downstairs yet when I go upstairs he goes up and eats when I get my coffee or food for my self. He just happen to get hungry I guess at right timing. Also he really goes right by my legs when I go upstairs it's really strange. I keep thinking he had all the time to eat if he was that hungry but he didn't so maybe it was coincidence?

I don't think you need to worry about his eating schedule, but if you are holding up doing things--like unloading the dishwasher-- just so he can eat, you need to move his food and water to a better location.  His food shouldn't be in a high-traffic area.

Are you sure that he doesn't eat at other times as well, when you aren't watching him?  My cats eat off and on all day and in the middle of the night even.

Yes I seen him eat different times since when I happen to go upstairs I see him eating even I wasn't there. But also strange thing is that when I go to the bathroom and his litter box is in the same room he for some reason goes there and doesn't use his litter and just sits in the bathroom I say to him if you need to go go ahead but then after I finish goin got the restroom he goes to my room next door and if I go there again to get something he would go to the restroom and I wait for him before going back to my room so he can go but he doesn't. If he needed to go to the restroom then why doesn't he just go.

Also I forgot to say that when I go upstairs where the food bowl is he would run up there and eat when I get there but I keep thinking that if he was that hungry why didn't he go up there when I was still downstairs. All in all it feels strange for a cat since I never had a cat like this before. My last cat didn't do this. I can say I' am home all day since I don't work since I live off SSI, EBT and Medicaid since I have OCD, Tics and ADD. I do go out thought to get food and stuff since I drive but I guess I' am just saying I' am home most of the time since I' am a homebody but I know this had nothing to do with my cat just letting you guys know that I seen him eat by himself since I' am home a lot.

I think he may just be wanting to be with you. And of course cats are curious! He may just want to see what you've done near his things! It sounds like you have a good companion though. Seems like he is definitely bonded with you!
I wouldn't worry--when I first saw your post I thought your kitty just wouldn't eat unless you were there, but sounds like he just enjoys your company while he dines.

Also a lot of times when I take a bath he is close to the bathtub and I wonder if he just wants to lick the water around it and I know he likes that so I just wondered why he didn't do this before I got in. Also the reason why its a problem that when he gets hungry when I get upstairs is that I have several times stepped on him by mistake and I was trying to figure out that if he was that hungry why didn't he go upstairs before me.

I just know that for a cat this is strange since every other cats I seen wasn't like this. Also he meows a lot and I mean a lot than normal cats I seen. It gets annoying at times especially when I am on the phone. He is hyper too even his 15 years old. Yes like other cats he sleeps a lot but when his awake he gets noisy. Also when his in my room everytime I move he meows like even if its my leg.

I really think you should move his food if it is in such an area that it is an inconvenience to you and you have the possibility of stepping on him.  That is really an easy solution to that entire problem.

As far as "why does he do this or that" I don't think you can really ever know "why" a cat does behaviors at a specific time.  I do not ever ponder as to why my cats do what they do when they do it.  It is probably when they feel like doing it.  It would be like trying to figure out why one person eats lunch at 11am and another eats at 1pm.  Cats are as individual as people, and the way they interact with humans is very individual to the cat and the person they are with.

Could it be an exacerbation of your OCD that is creating your fascination with the "why" of his behaviors?  I ask this very sincerely because I have severe OCD as well, and have controlled it for over 20 years now successfully.  I learned during cognitive behavior therapy over the years that the obsession with the "why" of something is often a signal of an exacerbation.

The excessive meowing could be a physical problem that a vet needs to be consulted for, or it could be that something is amiss in the cat's household that he is trying to communicate with you.  OR, if he has been like that all of his life, you may just have a very talkative cat.  Again, it is not something that you can compare with other cats.  I'd move his food, try to relax about his actions, and let him do his thing at his own time.

Now I don't think that breed has to do anything about my cat and how he acts but he is a Himalayan but more towards Siamese I think since it doesn't have super long hair. I uploaded pics of him but he is a Himalayan right?  He has blue eyes can't see it well on pics though. All I can say is he needs to stop meowing soo much also but I don't know why he does that. Also about going upstairs and eating right when I' am going upstairs. But I don't think breed has to do anything with this does it?

Also another thing is that when he meows soo much by me he would not check behind him and just roll over my feet. I always have to move my feet away since he seems to not know what is behind him. I thought cats are good at knowing what's around them but apparently not.

Rolling over you is normal! It sounds like you've just got a chatty guy!

Is there a way to make him not meow so much it wakes everyone up when he does it at night. He just meows too much. Maybe this is not normal and need to ask the vet but his been like this since I adopted him when he was 7.

Also strange thing is that he keeps looking towards my face so I look behind me and I always see nothing very strange since I know cats sees bugs or soo but everytime I look behind he is looking at I see nothing kinda creepy. I looked very hard one day and saw nothing but he was facing something behind me since his face was towards my face and meowing.

Aww, he sounds like a perfectly normal cat to me.
Siamese types tend to be noisy. My shouter often just wants to narrate his comings and goings or some attention. If it's an attention shout I generally shout 'what?' back and he's happy.
For all the talk of aloofness plenty of cats like company. If I go into a different room my lot tend to saunter in too.

They know, remember they have a superb sense of smell. Rubbing is spreading their scent, possibly why they're so enamoured with the washing. It smells of you when dirty and of no-one therefore needing a mark when clean.

Oh ok well what about do cats know what part is you and what part is my clothing I am wearing when rubbing against me with his face or they just rub anything they like not knowing.

So was he actually trying to talk to me these years and not looking behind me. WoW never knew that.
