hello everyone. i got my first kitten on june 1st i was unaware that cats need a lot of water and didnt feed her any water at all just wet cat food and she ended up havin a slight anal prolapse. or hemmroid. the vet kept goin back and forth between the two terms. anyway while my doctor examined her he said she had an ear infection  gave me antibiotic drops for her ears and told me otherwise shes a perfectly healthy cat [which i already knew since she runs around and plays every day. the thing im worried about is shes supposed to be spayed next week and im a little bit worried if maybe thats not a good idea with all the complications shes had so far. so im wondering what everyone else thinks. i really dont want my kittten to die

I don't think an all wet diet would cause anal prolapse. When you say you didn't feed her any water, do you mean you didn't have any available to her at all?

The vet should guide you on whether or not she's healthy enough to undergo the surgery. An ear infection shouldn't be an issue. I'd be more worried about the prolapse. Has it healed?  How old is she?

Water should always be available for all animals regardless of diet. Canned food does provide some water but a bowl of water still needs to be available at all times. Water should never be restricted unless under the advice of a vet. Now that you know this, please set out a bowl of water for your cat and refresh the water daily.

An anal prolapse is not caused by lack of water. It's usually caused by weak muscles back there. If the vet isn't giving you answers, please seek out another vet. The prolapse can be inserted back in by a vet and sutures may be needed to keep it in.

did u even read wat i wrote? i clearly have already learned that not giving her water was a mistake. her anal prolapse or hemmoroid was already reinserted back in by the vet. my question is wheter its safe for her to still be spayed. im scared she may be too fragile for such an operation? my doctor said she was healthy otherwise.

It sounds to me like your vet thinks she is healthy enough. I would go ahead with the procedure.

Those aren't things that indicate a sickly kitten. . .the anal prolapse was because of straining from not getting enough water, the ear infection was just an ear infection. If she seems healthy now I think she should be fine.
