What kind of Siamese kittens are these?

Yesterday, we had a good friend give us 2 kittens. He found the kittens beneath his porch about 3-4 weeks ago, and decided he couldn't be their forever home. I know they are a type of Siamese cat, my best guess is either Chocolate Point or possibly Balinese. This is the best picture I have of them. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

They're probably not purebred. It's unusual to find purebred kittens under one's porch ;). So they're most likely pointed domestic shorthairs. They are fluffier than many shorthairs but I don't think they're longhairs. They both appear to be tortie points, so they're girls.

Pretty kitties!

I agree it would be unusual, but our friend lives in a pretty nice area. He has seen purebred animals escape their owners homes several times, so there is a chance, even if it is super small. We are taking them to the vet next week for check ups, but I don't know if the vet would be able to identify their breed.

You are right, however, they are both female.

Well, they definitely aren't show-type Siamese (or Balinese). The show types have very extreme wedge-shaped heads, extra long slim bodies, and very sleek coats. They may be pet bred, "apple head" Siamese though. Although Siamese aren't supposed to be red point or tortie point, so I guess that would be a Colorpoint Shorthair instead.

Welcome to the site. Beautiful kittens. They might have a Siamese ancestor (Tortie Point, as Willowy says).. I wish I could be more helpful, because I'm not a Siamese  expert (I can identify a chocolate point, for sure, and these girls do not have that pattern)  Are they adapting well to their new home?..

Thank you! They are absolutely beautiful kittens, I've already fallen in love! I know the chance of them being 100% pure is slim, very slim....but even so I am near 95% certain the have Siamese in them. I am taking them to the vet for check ups next week, but I'm not sure what they could tell us about breed. Which is why I am so happy I found this website. They are still skittish, one more so than the other. I'm hoping they adjust soon.

All pointed cats have some Siamese in them, because the pointed gene only came from the original Siamese cats. The question is, how many generations ago? ;)

I know there are cat breed DNA tests now but I don't know if they're as accurate as the dog tests, just because of a smaller control population.

most vets arent very good on breeds, unless they use to cooperate with many breeders, and are themselves interested in purebred cat world.

Were there more kittens under this porch?  Had the others the same looks, points?   Or it was just these two?

A mixed litter tells clearly at least one of the parents wasnt no point.   A litter where all were points, hints strongly both parents were points - and thus gives the theoretical possibility they are more or less purebred.

@StefanZ there was one other kitten, but it didn't make it. I asked our friend and he said it had the same look, the points just appeared slightly darker.
