Stillborn

Hello people of the world this is very sad experience for us the last 2 days our baby girl gave birth to 8 stunning little baby's it's her first litter but sadly 7 past last night she did everything she was meant to one was still alive until about 18:30 tonight when he past away I did get him back to life I really did try my best and its heart braking I had him in my hand and he just looked at me took two breaths had a wee on me and past away but I don't understand why this has happened the mother is fine and healthy she not been stressed but now I have she won't leave my side she has to be cuddled right into me with my arm round her she won't let me go anywhere I can even get out out of bed because she won't let me it's so upsetting can anyone give me some advice please thank you sorry if this upsets anyone but no one can be as upset as me right now

The only time I had an experience like this was many years ago, and babies were purebred Himalayans.  She had a large number also, more than 8, but they all looked healthy.  One at a time they suddenly just died. The biggest strongest fat ones went first and the smaller runty ones went later.  I was able  to save only one of them, the smalles and skinniest, called her Nancy Renee, Nancy for the vet who helped save her and Reneebecause it means reborn. 

It turned out that my queen had an infection and it was a bacteria that produced toxins and they were excreted i the milk, so the one that ate the most died first and the little ones who didn't get as much died slowly until the last who was removed from her mother, given special antibiotics, and made it.  The mom cat had kittens before and wa not acting sick, did everything sheshould have for the kittens.  I would suggest you take your mama cat to the vet and have them run a blood test.  She may well have a hidden infection that needs treating.  I'm really sorry for your heartbreak.

So sorry! Please get mom checked for infection. I have to wonder if the kittens were too premature to survive as well. You said they were very small.

Will you spay mom now? She is seeking comfort from you while she grieves losing her kittens.
