Hi everyone,

I got a kitten (her name is River) about 2 weeks ago.  Her mother is feral and the kittens were brought inside about 5-6 weeks after they were born.  River has adjusted great and is a total people person.  We have no other pets and no children.  We are now considering adopting one of her sisters who has not found a home yet but I am wondering how this will affect River.  They have only been separated for two weeks but from what I have read, they will no longer remember each other, Do you think this will be a hard adjustment for River (who seems to love all the attention we give her) or do you think she will like having a friend again?  My boyfriend and I both work shift work and can be gone for 12 hours at a time so I was thinking it might be nice for her to have her sister back.  But I don't want her getting territorial or fighting.  Any advice would be appreciated.

I think it's a great idea.  At first they will seem like strangers to each other but there is amazing bond between cats in that they tend to have great tolerance for relatives, especally the females. so I think it will be a wonderful gift to BOTH kittens.  Go for it!
