yes, goats milk is OK to use as emergency kmr.  Some rescuers even do use it per preference.

If you have access to raw goats milk, fresh or frozen, its good, but otherwise you can use almost any bottled, cartooner or powdered.  As long its no peculiar low fat diet variation, it should go OK   :)

Good luck!

Good if you weigh the kittens, so you notice if they gain properly.

How is it going?

With a little luck the momma will come back.   The most probable is, she got in heat anew, and run off to find a willing tom.  So with any luck she will return.

Observe, you must consider to spay her as soon you can, dont wait to the customary 8 weeks...

With any luck she can continue to nurse her kittens already 24 hours after the spaying.  But you will have the goats milk to use as your strategical reserve, no?  :)

Great question and timely for me too.  I was just advised to try goat's milk on my 18 year old who is not eating well.  Gee whiz, I can't remember who told me that but  I cannot find the stuff.  T'was said to help get a few more nutrients into her, ok for her too?  Supposing I find it?

Is there a Trader Joe's in your area ? Another possibility is a middle eastern market. we have one called Basha Market.

I find it easily in Kroger, Publix and Walmart, all big chains around here.  If you can't find it fresh in the health food dairy department or the regular dairy department, go into the baking aisle or wherever it is they keep the carnation condensed milk and you should be able ti find cans of it (condensed) in with them.  Publix also has the powedered form in a can, which lasts a long time and works like KMR. You mix it fresh every meal.

You can find KMR at Petco but not PetSmart as they have their own brand,

Thanks.  I am in Ontario, Canada and was at a Walmart today that didn't have it.  I am told it is stocked at a grocery store the other direction from where I went today so may give them a phone call before I drive all the way down to see.  Heck, years ago a lady in my fitness class had milk goats but she moved away.  I did try some KMR from the kittens we found but my old girl wouldn't touch it.  That was a long while ago.

You should be able to find kitten replacement milk at your local pet store. Also, turkey or chicken baby food at your grocer. Do they carry it? Here in the U.S. it is made by Gerber. Old and young cats love it!

I can't find meat baby food either.  I asked my niece and some other young mums and when they thought about it we all agreed all we can find is stuff that has vegetables or fruit mixed in with it.  Very strange.  A friend thinks I can get goat milk at a couple of grocery stores besides the one that is further away.  The local organic, whole foods place, which is a farm just down the road so nice and handy, has answered my email yet.
