She is about 2-3 weeks old now and her eyes are opened. I want them to develop correctly so how much light or darkness should she have per day?

Hi @Jayarzee80  Welcome to The Cat Site.

Is the kitten being kept indoors? Or do you have her in a crate or kennel or somewhere safe like that? As long as she isn't being kept in total darkness or exposed to very harsh, bright lights her eyesight should develop naturally.

Is she still with her mother? If you can tell us a little more about her situation we'll be able to offer you some better advice.

Thanks, she is orphaned. We have had her in a box with large holes cut in it. Not large enough for her to escape or let our other cat threaten her. But I have no idea how much light or dark she should have. What is the safest type of box/cage to keep her from in. Our other candidates seems curious and irritated with her but not aggressive

Aww, poor little thing! I'm glad you were able to save her.

A dog crate would do fine for her at this stage. There is actually a really good thread about a mother and two young kittens that had to be kept crated here.

@Kittens Mom  had some great ideas for keeping the family safe and comfortable. Maybe she could let you know what worked best for her.
