With Autumn now here, the pumpkin spice explosion has arrived. Are you a fan or a pumpkin spice hater?

I :heart2: my pumpkin spice coffee and will stock up on beans so I can make it all winter. I'm usually good for a slice of pumpkin bread or two during the season and maybe one dish of pumpkin ravioli. They only thing I really go overboard on is the coffee.

How about you?

I like pumpkin but not the spice. I made a batch of pumpkin muffins over the weekend and they were awesome. I only used cinnamon I would have used nutmeg but was out. I also love pumpkin rolls. That is about it for me.

I am more of the Apple Caramel girl. I found some Little Debbie's a week or so ago Apple Caramel Oatmeal pies, they were so good. I would love to have a good Apple Sauce cake like my Mamaw made when I was a kid. But you never see anyone making them any more. I guess that is my next baking project.

This was my muffins. One with icing was only 113 calories and 98 without .

They look yummy, Louann Jude. Nice!

If you'd like to try an applesauce recipe, try this one.....it's an oldie, but goodie and I make them for Rick often. I use homemade applesauce, but store-bought would work fine, too. And while this is a recipe for applesauce brownies, I feel confident that you could frost it and eat it like cake; in fact, perhaps a burned butter frosting or a caramel frosting might take these over the top! Feel free to add some raisins, if you'd like. I have.

Applesauce Brownies

2 cups flour
2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 cup soft butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1-1/2 cups applesauce
1 cup chopped nuts
Confectioners’ sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 13 x 9-inch pan. Sift flour with soda, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg and set aside. Cream butter with sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla and beat well. Beat in flour mixture just to combine. Stir in applesauce, nuts and raisins. Turn into prepared pan. Bake 20 to 25 minutes. Cool on wire rack, then sprinkle with confectioners’ sugar. Cut into squares.

My mother had a recipe for an applesauce cake. I have it. If you're interested, I could post it for you.

To get the thread back on track, I do not like Pumpkin Spice anything that's commercially prepared. So no Pumpkin Spice coffee or tea. No room freshener. I have a recipe for Pumpkin Bars that are so decadent, it's a shame to only make them during pumpkin season, so I make them throughout the year. And I make a lot of savory pumpkin recipes, like Baked Pumpkin as a side dish, Pumpkin Crescent Rolls, etc. And Pumpkin Pie is standard as one of the desserts for Thanksgiving.

I'm not a fan of pumpkin. I like Pumpkin SpiceLattes at Starbucks ONLY, however, the last time I got a flavored/sugared drink there I just couldn't tolerate how sweet it was.  They sent me a coupon for a free one before it was officially released for the season and I never bothered using it.

I think the entire idea of pumpkin spice has really gone overboard..

While I do like a bit of it, I do not want to see it everywhere, in everything..

Not a big fan of Pumpkin Spice Latte; and I love Starbucks.... I would rather have a Peppermint Mocha Latte...

I had a PSL last week and was disappointed...Pumpkin coffee is good also. I can fix it up to make it my own..

I do occasionally like to have a Pumpkin bread.. it is good. and I did have butternut squash raviolis,

Those are ok.. Pumpkin muffins are ok also... and of course pumpkin pie at T-day...

But anything else is overboard for me...

Oh, and a Pumpkin spice candle from Yankee Candle is always in my house..

I love pumpkin spice - Baked goods, coffee, tea, scents and so forth. I think the only time I was ever disappointed was when I tried a pumpkin spice beer last year. It tasted fine overall but you could hardly taste the actual flavour of the pumpkin spice, just beer. Other companies have came out with pumpkin spice beer/ale this year but kinda apprehensive to try it again.

Though while I do love it, both as a special seasonal theme and the flavour, I do admit it can be quite out there
Though the spoof version of things can be kinda funny - like pumpkin spice condoms, toilet paper. burritos and whatnot.

The normal amount of the pumpkin syrup they put in is way too much. My normal order is a large iced coffee with nonfat milk and two pumps of the pumpkin syrup. I think they normally put five pumps in a large drink.

I like pumpkin; but I'm definitely Team Apple.
I think I'm liking pumpkin less and less because its so overdone now.
I'm with you.  Pumpkin everywhere.

Coming soon -

pumpkin fresh Tide laundry soap

pumpkin fresh tub & tile bathroom cleaner

pumpkin spice latte under arm deodorant.

I still like to bake my own things with pumpkin so I can control the spices.

But I live in the "Big Apple" so team apple it is.

Thank you so much for this. I will have to try and will probably top with apple butter. I will figure it out. And yes if you can find the recipe please send it to me.

The sad thing is you are right if they think they can get more money they will do it.

I like it, but only in some things. I think most desserts are a go for me (mmmm pumpkin pie). I like pumpkin coffee but don't like a whole lot of it. I usually only have it a couple of times during the season. I also like pumpkin beer, but most of them taste pretty much the same. I've only had a few that I could say tasted unique. I've only had pumpkin ravioli once but think it should be served year-round. That stuff is fantastic.

I love pumpkin stuff. We don't get nearly as much in Canada. I shared a pumpkin spice donut with my son at Tim Hortons this morning, he loved it.

I had my first ever pumpkin spice cappuccino at the weekend (it's only recently caught on over here). I really liked it :yummy: AbbysMom AbbysMom , I'm amazed at the amount of syrup they put in coffees over there :shocker::jaw::shocked: 2 pumps is standard here...well, it is in my favourite coffee shop (a little indie coffee and chocolate shop), anyway ;)

I have some cinnamon pumpkin lotion a friend made that i rather love too. Other than that, I've never tried anything. Pumpkin really isn't a big thing over here, seasonal or otherwise!

I'm waiting for our local frozen yogurt shop to bring out their seasonal pumpkin flavored yogurt.

Is it Frozen Yoguart. if so I'm on board with that...yum.
Yes.  I check their Facebook page every couple of days to see what their flavors of the day are, just waiting for Pumpkin Pie day.
