Hello all!

My apologies if this is the wrong forum, but seemed appropriate. I just yelped cats only vet practices in the bay area but I wanted to solicit feedback from those who have actually taken their cat children there. So...

1. Who do you go to and why do you continue going there?

2. What is your particular vet's view on cat nutrition? (i.e. supportive of feeding raw, etc.)

Thanks in advance!

xx Lottie

I started taking my kitties to a cats only clinic that also had a certified feline specialist http://www.abvp.com/certification  because of a then undiagnosed illness.  My kitty did get diagnosed correctly and his issues are under control now.  They no longer have a certified feline specialist there but they are still a cats only clinic.

They don't recommend raw feeding but they aren't against it either as long as all the proper precautions are taken.  They do have prescription foods there but they don't push those foods, at least they haven't to me even though I have an IBD kitty.  I did ask the vet what she thought of raw feeding.  She was hesitant but it was because of concerns about getting it right.  She actually said if I wanted to try it she would rather I got one of the commercially prepared ones.

They do use the safer Pure-Vax vaccines and they give boosters every three years rather than annually.

Thanks Denice! Didn't know about that certification but will check out if places in my area have people on staff with that.
