Recently I got a new kitten his name is Suprise and I have had him for about 2 months and he is around 3-4 months now. I am planning on getting a second kitten from my friend's cat's litter. His kittens are around between 1-2 months old and will be good to go in another month. I live on my own floor of the house so it would just be him and the other kitten. I don't know if I should get a rowdier kitten from the litter so they could play or a mellower one. There are two in particular I am thinking about. On is male and likes to play but never seems to actually hurt his siblings, things like biting. The other is his sister, she seemed to be okay with being played with, she would play back but not start playing. I am worried if I got the female that she would become timid and scared because suprise is older and a bit more agressive. He isn't mean just likes to play fight. He has wand toys and they all get kicks from his back legs and he likes to play fight and stalk anything that moves be that his mouse toys or your hair and hands. I have been trying to get him to stop chewing hands though. Any advice or your own experiences would be very helpful as I couldn't find much information on cat to catcompatibility elsewhere.

I personally would get one of the same temperament.  You want them to get along but not challenge too each other too much.  JMO...

Good luck, and it's nice that another kitty will have a forever home.

I agree with getting a similar kitten. They will be both need to be neutered in order to stay friends.

The only reason suprise isn't already fixed is because when I got him he was very emaciated. He has just started to put on weight but is still thin and tiny. The vet recommended that we wait until he is a bit bigger before fixing him. Although if we did end up getting a female I would get him fixed as soon as possible. No matter what the kittens will be fixed.

If it were me, I would choose the kitten I liked best and most importantly, the healthiest!  After fostering almost 200 kittens, I often mix litters and find that more timid ones learn confidence from the rowdier ones and the rambunctious kittens learn patience and temperance (and yes, sweetness) from the more timid ones.  Rarely are there anything near serious problems.   Get who speaks to your heart the loudest as most likely, this will end up being a life long companion you will bond with, too.
