Hi all! Here are my two babies. Indi was my first cat (short for Independent), she's a Mainecoon I think. Someone abandoned her during wintertime at my apartment complex, so I took her in. She is so sweet, a total lapcat.
She sleeps on her back like that all the time and in the strangest of places!
Recently I got a kitten from the local animal shelter. They had an overflow of kittens and this cutie was on death row! Named him Butternut Squash, Butter for short!
I did the gradual introduction, and while Indi wasn't thrilled about it. She tolerated him very well. Until he got a bit older and now he tries to roughhouse her all the time. Sometimes it looks like they are just playing. But then I will wake up to her hissing and growling at him because he is being too aggressively playful. She actually scratched his little eye last week because she was defending herself. Any advice on how to help them get along?? She's getting stressed out and is less affectionate towards me and it's kind of breaking my heart! I've had him for 3 months now. Thanks all! [emoji]10084[/emoji]️
