Hi,

Obviously my little kitoon likes to chase the elusive red dot, and obviously she can sadly never catch it. So I begin to feel guilty, and worry that she will develop anxiety or lose confidence because she can never catch it.

Now, I have read on other sites that all you have to do is, at the end of the play session, bring the red dot to rest on a physical mouse/toy that she can catch, and she will be satisfied.

However, my cat is not fooled in the slightest--she knows the red dot has nothing to do with that toy.

So should i be worried? Part of my loves to let her chase it around because she goes nuts, yet part of me feels guilty/worried.

Let me know thanks!

I felt bad about them never getting to catch it too so now after we are done with the laser I immediately pick up a wand toy and play with that for a few minutes so they can have something to bite/sink their claws into then I give them a treat when we're done. The kittens seem pretty happy with this and our older cats don't really want to be bothered with any of it until the treats come out. Then they're interested!
