I'm so sorry Miss Sunday is responding to anything.  Poor gal.  The pain meds are a great idea.  They worked wonders for my situation with my boy.

Please keep us updated.  I'll be thinking of you both.

Good news!

after throwing up, MIss Sunday  came out from underneath the bed..walked around the apt ate a little food..then went through the banister and walked down the stairs and gently lied down on a blanket provided for her. . . I went down to leave her some more food and water; petted her for a while. her fur is back to being warm and supple!!

My only concern tomorrow is that Daisy (King Charles Spaniel) is coming for her usual Mon-Fri 8-6 stay, and Miss Sunday may be frightened. I will try to figure something out.

Can you get a clean box for her and put it in your bedroom?  My cats always liked a medium size box, tilted on its side, like a diorama, and put nice fluffy blanket in there for her, and she may feel safe having her own space.

I'm sure you'll figure it out.

I thought she was all black but is she a Tortie?

Please keep us updated.  Would love to learn more about this sweet gal.

Now you can catch a minutes rest.  Best to you both.

Wow!! that's a great suggestion...should be easy as I live in a bldg. where people buy a lot of stuff on Amazon and leave their boxes in the trash room!!!  and yes, she is a tortie!! I know she can look black in photos if the light is not right...she's got the cutest little pink nose and sometimes her tongue is out ...also no one knows why, but her tail is stubbed..maybe an early accident..no one knows since she was found on a subway platform...

You can also cut the top flap on the box and let one side hang and tape the other up for easy access, it will be darker inside for her, or I also used to tape up the top flap and then hang a blanket over it and just give my cats a peeking hole, and it keeps the warm air inside, creating a cozy hiding spot.

Get creative.  Glad to help.  She's really cute.  I have a tortie too.  They are special that's for sure.

I have a boy named Simba and all of sudden 1 day he just stopped eating!! Then he started to rapidly lose weight and it worried me!! Took to vet & did bloodwork & of course, all normal!! So i started to force feed him with a spoon 3 times a day,he has started to eat a lil on his own but still not enough!! My question is can IBD just hit all of sudden w/no warning?

I found this at Winn Feline Foundation: The causes of IBD are variable, and often no single cause can be identified in a given patient. Causes may include food allergies, dietary intolerances, chronic infections or parasite burdens, auto-immune disease, bacterial overgrowth, or many other reasons. Most IBD is likely multifactorial and partially spontaneous in nature. Several types of IBD may be identified based on the type of inflammatory cell present (lympho- plasmacytic, eosinophillic, granulomatous, etc).

How is she today?  Any progress today.

I'm rooting for you both... xoxo

Good news! she actually came up the stairs to use her litter pan and she went underneath my bed which I think means she wants to hear and see what's going on up here! a good sign! after a while under the bed, she went back down to her little corner at the bottom of the stairway and slept. Then she came up a second time! Now she's under the bed actually grooming herself!  Maybe she's improving!

Are you married to your vet?  I was recommended a vet a while ago by another member, unfortunately at that time it was for cremation for my sweet boy, but from the research I did, and after calling them, this place only specializes in cats and they are located on the upper west side.  It may be worth a call.

I will send you the information via PM if and when you need it.

I'm in Queens BTW, so if you need any suggestions please let me know.  I'd be more than happy to lend a hand.
Would you mind PMing me this vet? I'm in NY too. Thank you!

Click on the members name, then it will show options, a PM is a private message.

How is she doing?

She must get fluids at a minimum though, however it has to be done, it's a must to keep her from shutting down.
