I was taking my Manx cat Ollie into the vet today. He managed to chew a hole through the box he was in and when the vet tech opened the car door, he dashed out and is nowhere to be found. We've been searching all day within a mile radius. It is a new environment for him and I'm very scared that I won't find my baby. And the vet isn't close to my house he is familiar with. Needing advice for this situation!

I'm so sorry to hear that. Keep looking and enlist the help of friends and family if you can. Also, if you have any pet shelters or Humane Society locations in the area, contact them and let them know you lost your cat. You'd be surprised how often people will drop lost cats at a local shelter. I wish you the best of luck finding him.

Post flyers in the vets office too. It will help if you have locals also keeping an eye out for your cat.

When cats are scared and bolt, they usually find a hiding spot as soon as they can and stay put, so he's probably very close to the vet's office somewhere! Dusk is the best time to look, because that's when cats start to feel more comfortable and will come out of hiding. A flashlight is also helpful to shine under cars and bushes. The light will catch their eyes and you can see him more easily. Keep calling his name or shaking a bag of treats or whatever sound he responds to best as you walk around, and don't stop making that noise so he can follow it as you walk.
