My cat is 16 and got an enlarged liver and failing kidney. He also had digestive issues his whole life.
I usually feed him a good quality canned food like wellness or weruva or merrick - 3 times a day, breakfast, dinner and light snack before bed time. And whenever possible a light lunch.
Whenever we are at work, we will leaving him
some dry food. So he can have small meals through out the day.
He used to have the digestive ones from Royal Canin then now he has the Hill's K/D. I would rather give him something high quality than the stuff filled with by-products from the vet. Any recommendation?

I like Orijen, but they recently changed formula and now my cat doesnt like it so not sure about yours. I am feeding him merrick limited ingredient dry chicken now and he seems to be doing well. I heard acana is good too.

Frankly all dry food are not that good so we just need to choose one that is lesser of all evils... Hope this helps!

There is less than a handful of decent quality dry foods out there. I buy these but only give as a treat. Both are less than 10% carbs. Young Again Zero Carb. Wysong Epigen 90. Young Again Zero Carb TruCarnivore.

has 10% carbs - Young Again 50/22

What about air dried like Ziwipeak? It's not as hard as kibble & it's meat, organs & bone. The beef is less than 10% carbs & the lamb is 11%, the venison 12%.

Thanks for the input. He will not be eating a lot of dry. Maybe 2-3 days a week, just for lunch. But I still want to find the best ones he can have.
