Good morning all,

I am taking over the QOTD for Pam today and next Friday.

Question:

What is your favorite quote or saying of all time?

Mine is "United we stand, divided we fall"- Patrick Henry

It's so true in every aspect of life.

Have a great Friday everyone. Please keep Pam, Rick, Boo and the rest of their furkids in your thoughts today.

We are all living on borrowed time.  Our lives are, one and all, mortgaged, some more heavily than others, and eventual foreclosure awaits us all.  Some will receive notice before others, but ALL our notices are in the mail.  Nevertheless, until the postman comes, be happy.  There is no other rational response but happiness.  Despair is a foolish squandering of precious time.

I don't remember the exact quote.  It's from The Unoriginal Sinner and the Ice Cream God.  Something about God didn't create the churches but he did make the outdoors and you can worship there as well as anywhere.  Anyway as a girl in a Catholic school who didn't like the Catholic religion it was a comfort and I think of it whenever I am in the woods and just enjoying being there.

Don't walk behind me; I may not lead.

Don't walk in front of me; I may not follow.

Just walk beside me and be my friend.

I always liked the Golden Rule:  "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

I have many favourites so I could go on forever, but since this is a kitty website (And behalf of all animals altogether) I'll post a related one that I've always enjoyed:

"Compassion for animals is intimately connected with goodness of character, and it may be confidently asserted that he who is cruel to animals cannot be a good man" - Schopenhauer

To my inner core I always thought that ringed true.

Things do not happen. Things are made to happen.    - John F. Kennedy

Mine is from Horace: "Semel emissum volat irrevocabile verbum". Colloquially speaking, it means: you cannot take back the words you say, so think before you speak!.

My favorite quote is by George W. Bush at the World Trade Center Site on September 2001.

Thank you, @Kat0121

I don't know that I really have a favorite quote.

I think of this sometimes when I'm on the treadmill or out walking at lunch....usually when my butt hurts to walk, but know that it's best that I do.

Confucious:  It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.
