Hi everyone.

My boy Ash is about 3 years old. He is FeLV+ with no known complications at this time.
We've had him for a little over 6 months now and in the last week we've noticed some eye issues.

He always has some crusty discharge on the corners of his eyes that I'm not concerned about. In the last week though it has changed to a brownish, gooey discharge, often with tinges of red.

We took him to the vet and they had us putting antibiotic ointment in his eyes for 5 days. The vet noticed some redness and saw the discharge, said it was most likely an infection of some kind.

On the 5th day, we noticed he was squinting that eye, sometimes holding it completely closed. I immediately called the vet and brought him in the next day.

They tested for tears and lesions and it all was negative. The vet told me to keep putting the ointment on for another 5 days, and if it didn't go away she would give us a different ointment with steroids.

I have continued the ointment and Saturday is day 10. The discharge seems to be gone but he still squints. The wierd thing is it's always his left eye, and always at night.

Any ideas what this could be? Should I call the vet again?

Sounds like there is something in his eye, but I suspect that that's not the case.  With eye's, it could be a corneal ulcer or something like that, but I would expect the Vet looked for that already.

Yes, I would definitely call the Vet back and explain the squinting.
