I have a question regarding pressure canned meat. I have been reading in several forums that you should not cook bone-in meat. I made Dr Pierson's raw recipe with ground bone-in chicken thighs. Well because I'm not sure what is going on with my male kitten and my vet scared me off feeding raw I decided to pressure can the meat. I opened a jar of the meat and have squeezed it through my fingers and cannot find any hard bones in it. I've actually opened two jars with same results. Is it safe to feed this to my kitties? I read somewhere else that pressure canning bones will turn them into mush. Does anybody have any experience with this?

Bumping this up for you.  I guess if you cooked the heck out of them, eventually the bones will "melt".  After cooking, did you run everything thru the blender?

I just don't know the answer.  I sounds like it's fine, but I've always heard never feed cooked bones too.  But that's because there could be shards I think.  In your case, I don't think there would be any, but...  Since your Vet talked you out of feeding raw, maybe ask him
.  Or see if he'll call a Holistic Vet and get the scoop for you (either way...raw or cooked)
