Question of the Day - Tuesday, September 20

Hello all you gorgeous TCS members! Happy Tuesday! 

How many first cousins do you have?

Seven on one side, two on the other. So in total, I have nine cousins!



 

There are 10 grandchildren on my mom's side and 9 on my dad's side. Since I'm one and 2 are my brothers, that's 13 cousins altogether. I haven't seen my dad's side cousins since I was a baby. My mom is friends with a few on Facebook though.

7 and 3

7 first cousins an my mom's side + a **it load of her cousins and their kids that we see at family gatherings.

9 or 10 on my dad's side.  One of my uncles lost custody after his wife died and his kids were raised in the foster system in Ohio I think, anyways not sure if there are 4 or 5 of them.

I don't have very many relatives, at all. We didn't have a big family to begin with but after family disagreements, it's even smaller.

I, technically, have 2 half cousins on my father's side, one of whom, I've never met, the other I met once when I was very young but don't have any contact with any longer.  I have have three on my mother's side and don't speak to any of them. 

So, I guess, in reality, I don't have any.

I can relate.  My mom's family is small and my dad left home at an early age and didn't stay in touch with most of his relatives, so we didn't grow up knowing most of them.  Honestly, I'd have to go look at my family tree on Ancestry to know how many cousins I have.  

6 on dad's side. 3 on my mom's side. So 9.

I have 20 on my mothers side and 2 on my fathers side.

Five on Mom's side, one blood and one adopted on Dad's side.

Extremely few. Both my parents were the baby of the family with large age gaps between them and their siblings.

On my mom's side - only 1 male cousin.

On my dad's side somewhat more as he had several siblings but still not a lot - I think it's 4 unless I missed someone.

7 first cousins. I really don't talk to any of them though..

3 on my dad's side (one of his brothers never had kids) and 4 on my mom's side. 

I talk to two of them around the holidays, nothing more. the others I dont' talk to.

Eight, all on my Dad's side, and half of them are also my second cousins on my Mom's side (brothers married first cousins).

I'm not close to my family at all, other than my sister and brother. About the only time I see cousins is when there's a funeral. Sad. And it's a shame because I was really close to a bunch of second cousins when I was a child and staying with my grandma during the summers. We all hung out together. And when my mother passed away, they all came to her funeral. Steve and I hung out together a lot when we were kids and when he saw me at the funeral, he just walked up and grabbed me into a big hug. He's a second cousin. 

So first cousins. Four on my mom's side. Four (I think) still alive on my dad's side, but I haven't seen them in about 50 years. Huge, huge, really ugly argument between my dad and his brothers and sisters. I could probably walk right by them on the street and wouldn't even know who they are.

6 blood cousins. 4 on Mom's side; 2 on Dad's.

I call my step-cousin's my cousins too.  If I add them in there are 13 more I think. 

Haven't a clue. My entire family is in England & I hope they stay there. :lol3:
