Ok I got this kitten from a stranger a few days ago,its mother just weaned it it seems to be very young, she's also looks almost like a hamster when sitting down

I have a small problem with her,her left eye seems to be half shut when I just got her and I noticed a lot of crust so I cleaned it with a qtip and some warm water, her eye is now a somewhat open, its open to the front but the slit at the end of the eye is still closed so her eyes look weird, its not half open, the front is open but the slit at the end is closed no idea what to do.

I live in a small country and the area where I'm at doesnt have any vets..and Ive have to travel to another city for a vet which isn't feasible now.

I'm feeding her on wet food only not sure what else to get her, cant find any "kitten milk" either where I live, shes peeing fine and yesterday I saw her poop for the first time, she even went to the litter box I made to do it.

she's perfect expect for her left eye..which is really worrying me,any advice?

I also cant get a good picture of her face when ever I pick her up her face is always down, and she never stays one place in my  hand and if she is being still its when shes in my lap but then her face is looking down on my legs, she never looks straight ahead.

she also doesnt drink water, and she is really active..never plays with any of the homeade toys I give her though.

How old is she?  If she is the size of a hamster, sounds like she was weaned wayyy too early.  If you can manage some pictures, that would help identify the problem.   Are you giving her kmr or goat's milk?  Also, what are you feeding her?  Can you hold her in one hand and take a picture of her face with the other hand maybe?  Or can another person help you?  Really need to see her face.

She is still pretty young to be separated from her mother, none the less, she still needs to be on either kmr (kitten milk replacement) or goats milk as I mentioned before.  I'm glad you are feeding her wet canned food.  One of our experts will chime in any time now.  She is a cutie I can see.  Please try and get better face pictures

No, coconut milk will not work. Cow milk is not good either.

The pictures of her eyes above are great. She needs an antiobiotic ointment from the vet. Any chance one can be called into the pharmacy for you?

You should call a vet and ask what is best. Until then, use a damp warm cloth to keep the eye open. Don't ever pull at it.

I called a vet from a major city and the reception lady bascially told me I have to come in pay for the check up before I can be told whats wrong, even if I describe a problem I have to pay for a checkup first.

Welcome to TCS! [emoji]128522[/emoji]

In the US, vets give terramycin ointment for eye infections, which are caused by the herpes virus and are very common and easily cured in kittens. Terramycin is an antibiotic opthalmic ointment for pets. (Not neosporin)

Are you able to get anything like that?

In the meantime, soak a cotton pad in warm tea, and apply it to the eye. Keep the eye open so the pus does not build up behind the eye.

She does need full fat goat's milk at least.

If you are able to get her to a vet, it would be good.

In what country are you located? Can you get deliveries from the US? Terramycin is available online.

Im In the Caribbean, yes I can get shipments from the US,I just searched all my town and no goat milk here, but Ill be going to another city tmw so I can def get some then.

She's pooping fine,I saw her peeing a lot when I just got her but she doesn't seem to pee a lot now?maybe due to lack of not drinking the wet food might not be enough to make her pee but shes pooping healthy poops.

The goat's milk will help. Go online and order terramycin and powdered KMR by PetAg. Perhaps order a bag of dry kitten chow as well. You'll be all set.

Have you been applying the tea pad to her eye? Move quickly to get the eye ointment.

Ive been applying the tea bag with qtips and cotton wool balls, her eyes stop having so much discharge and its opening more it seems.

I did get her some dry food but I have a question, she seems to be too young to eat dry foods?Im leaving for work today and itll be the first day shell be alone the whole day since I got her,is there anyway to leave the dry food with her without her choking on it?this will be her first time eating dry food.

PetAg recently stopped selling from their website :(

You can leave wet food for her. Is the dry food tiny pieces made for a kitten?

You can order PetAg from Amazon rather than the PetAg website. You should find the terramycin on Amazon too.

I'm glad the warm tea is helping.

You could put the dry food in a little bag and smash it with a hammer or something to make the bits smaller.

Smart idea I would have to smash it,anyways some update

she didnt eat the dry food because chunks are too big for her even when I softened it up with water so the smashing advice is genius.

I didn't get the milk,no supermarket have it so I have to see if I can get it from a goat owner, her eyes stop discharging when she wakes up in the morning, and she stops keeping it half closed, its now always wide open except..I think her eye might have been damaged when she was just born it seems smaller than her other eye,I used to think it was the eye crust that was making it smaller due to she always keeping her eye half closed, but now that her eyes has been cleaned for a few days and no more discharge its glaringly obvious the crust wasn't keeping it from being fully open it just seems..smaller.

^so it seems like she doesnt need the eye drops but her poor eye :(

also shes way healthier now and very active, she finally learned how to climb into her sleeping room i built for her, shes a messy eater so shes kinda filthy now how would I clean a kitten?she hates water..dont think she'd sit there and let me wash her.
