Thank you, all of you.

Rick just called. He had a long talk with the vet and the vet will come to the house on Friday morning and help Boo to the Bridge. It's better than upsetting Boo by trying to get him into the crate, taking him in the car, and going to the vet. He hates it, he just hates it. And we don't want his last memories to be of something so traumatic for him.

This way, the vet will come to us, we'll put Boo on our bed and he will pass on from there. It's the best we can do. And hopefully it will be more peaceful for him.

:sniffle:

I'm so sorry- my heart goes out to all of you. Just spend the time you have left giving him lots of love. Having the vet come over so he can make the transition in peace and comfort with Mommy and Daddy right there will be much better for him. It will be better for all of you. You can begin to grieve for him in peace and in private. :alright:

Sweet BooBoo- go to the bridge knowing how much you are loved by those beside you and those you've never met. None of us will ever forget you. I will never look at a gumball machine again without thinking of you, little one. Seeing the pictures of you with your favorite treat machine made me smile. :rbheart: :hugs:

I am so glad the vet will come to your home and spare Boo a trip to the scary place.  May his passing be peaceful and easy.

I'm so sorry you and Rick had to make this terrible decision, but you made in the best possible way. It will be a loving good-bye for Boo. No one can ask for more. He will know how much you love him.

Hugs to you and Bob.  Glad you have a plan in place and can enjoy your final days with Boo.  As sad as it is, the stress is gone and as we all know, if you are stressed, your cats are too.

I would love to see a picture of Boo.  I'm not sure what he looks like.

I am so sorry to see this thread, everything with me has been upside down this week it seems I've just skimmed things instead of reading.

We went through the EXACT same scenarios with Fuzz, my hubby's baby.  I stepped back and let him make the decision as to "when", although I was her primary end-of-life caretaker (he was traveling a lot for work at the time).  We had the days of ***? when she would be all spry and spunky, and the next day wouldn't get up to eat and I would do the same, sit in the floor and hold her food so she could eat.  This happened over and over for months and months.  I prayed she would just go in her sleep one night while he was gone and I was ready to bury her behind the house with one of our other beloved pets, just to spare her/him/me the pain of everything, since it all seemed to be getting worse.  But she held on and she was in the physical shape you describe Boo being in.  She was 19.

Hubby finally made the decision after coming home after I had a particularly bad weekend alone with her. I had to bathe her back end constantly because she was incontinent, and he said he could see the light was gone from her eyes.  I worried so much about him, that was his baby, but he truly made peace with the fact it was just her time.  I must say, it was very hard and stressful for me because he couldn't make the decision until he did.  I cannot stand to see anything in pain or suffering.

He actually up and took her the next day, without telling me, when he was home and I was at work, and he buried her.  I think that was his final gift to her and closure for him, doing it alone, just them two together.

I wish you both peace of heart and mind...and sending you lots of hugs.

You will be in my heart and mind on Friday.

Oh Pam and Rick, I really do not know what to say...((hugs))

At least by having the Vet do a house call, it will be the least upsetting to Boo and the entire household...I am so sorry...

I have been thinking of you guys all day...and will continue to do so...((hugs)) again...

Pam I'm so sorry. I hope you and Rick find comfort and peace.
Boo has had a wonderful life and I know in my heart that you are making the best decision given the circumstances. Boo will be surrounded by loved ones and cross the bridge in the calm quiet peace of home with his loved ones.
Again I'm so sorry.
Sending you all prayers, love, strength and peace.
