Did you sleep with a special stuffed animal or security blanket/item when you were a child?

I had a bear named Louie who went everywhere with me when I was little.
He had a hole in his leg and wore my Dottie Dog's sweater.

My son has quite an assortment of stuffed animals in his bed; but he has 3 in particular that are his favorites.  One is a little raccoon that has been loved so much he is losing his shape.  Because he's so special; he has to stay home when we go places.  We have another one that stays in the car.  His other favorites are a red panda and what is technically a pencil case made from a stuffed fox.  DS keeps Hotwheels cars inside him sometimes.
The red panda or fox go everywhere with him these days!  Yesterday I laid down on the couch for a few minutes.  My sweet DS came over and asked if I wanted a stuffed animal to sleep with.
He's so cute!  I have a few stuffed animals in my bedroom.  I should have said yes to see what he was going to bring me!

When I was very small (baby-toddler/preschool) I had a 'clothie' - a really soft, old cotton handkerchief with a 1/2" wide hem all the way around. When I was older (6+) I had a stuffed orange cat, probably kitten-sized, called 'Cat-Amber' - to differentiate from my 6th birthday present of a cream BSH called Amber (he and his brother have been my PoM entries this month and a couple of months ago). And yes, I know Amber is a girl's name, but I named him Amber because his eyes were amber-coloured ;) I think we got Cat-Amber whilst on holiday in Holland because I was missing my new kitten so much :heart3: I always had HUGE stuffed animal collection - I just loved them - but Cat-Amber was the only one I HAD to sleep with.

....despite now being 34, my hot water bottle cover is a stuffed doggie.....and I sleep with a hot water bottle a LOT.....

I had loads of stuffed animals.  I had my Loveydoll.  A resident at the nursing home where my mom worked when I was a baby gave me her.  And I had WinnieBear.  A white bear with curly fur.  And my cow.  Apparently I took it everywhere and I scared the heck out of my grandma once when we were on vacation because I rolled over on it and made it moo.

And, yeah, I'm 28 but I snuggle with a stuffed Fawkes (phoenix from Harry Potter) that my boyfriend gave me for my last birthday - but only when Connor and Murphy aren't snuggling me.  Hehe

I had a little white bunny, given to me by my grandmother. She brought it to me when I was born and I had it up until I was 17 years old when I lost it in the flood caused by Hurricane Agnes in 1972. Rick and I lost pretty much everything in the flood, but losing that little white bunny was heartbreaking.

I have my Henry dog. I got him when I was 8. My friend and I were at Toys R Us with her uncle and he told us to each pick something. She picked Connect 4 (game). I picked Henry. He and I have been together for 38 years.

This is a stock photo but this is my pal.

I still have the teddy bear I slept with as a child (carefully wrapped and stored). He has no plush left, his ears were sewn back on multiple times, and you can still see his "incision" - I threw him down the stairs when I first got him as a gift because I hated his music box, so my mom removed it. :lol3:

I don't think so. I had two sisters and we all slept in the bed together. There wasn't room for anyone else, even bears, etc. :lol3:

I had a purple rabbit named Happy Rabbit.  He was so pitiful looking!  He had a long, skinny body, with limp legs and a big head and sad eyes.  I adored Happy Rabbit.  He finally fell apart for good when my younger son was 6 or so....

Oh my gosh!  Me, too.  I had a teddy bear with a music box in it.  My bear also has an incision because the music box broke, and my mom did 'surgery' to take it out and repair it.  The music box quit working again many, many years ago but I still have the bear--he's almost 60 now.

I had a doll. It was a 'Tiny Tears" brand doll.. I loved her.. I remember naming her "Tiny"....I needed her every night and sometimes during the day. Being an only child was lonely at that point in history. I took her everywhere. I could not sleep without her--the curly hair falling out, the plastic body discoloring from age. She had to be with me...

I think I still have her somewhere in storage. It has to be around 59-60 years old...

She looked so bad that when I had to be in the hospital overnight, in 1963, my mom had to made a new set of pajamas for her and a cap to cover her balding head.. but she was still my "Tiny"...

I got this raccoon puppet on a camping trip around 5 or so. I named it Rikki (After the weasle in Rikki Tikki Tavi). I slept with him every night. I always took him with me on vacations and friends' sleepovers. I even took him with me to college and still slept with him when I got my first apartment at age 27. I shelved him finally when I got my first cat and now he's my security to sleep with at nights.

I still have Rikki.

Yes. It was originally my brother's but it was given to me. I still have it.... in bed
. The bear has one original eye and one button eye ( I think I stil have the original eye that fell off. Mom tried glueing it to the button but it never would stay put), a "surgical scar" on the back from when Mom had to sew the bear back together, the neck is so worn that the fabric is threadbare and barely attaches the head to the rest of the body.

I don't think I or my sister had dolls or anything we slept with (we both slept in the same bed).  But we had a bookcase attached to the top of the bed and a bureau that held our favorite toys and we loved to talk about them.

The non stock picture of my buddy. He's looking very dapper in a Maker's Mark sweater. It was sent to DH to use as a decoration for a whiskey bottle. I found it fits Henry nicely. :lol3:

He still looks good after all these years. His head is permanently tilted to the left. I used to snuggle on him when I was a kid.
