Dandruff and Itching

In May, I moved from a flea-ridden home to a new, flea-free apartment with my two cats. They have been treated for fleas (topically) since (and even before) the move. Our whole apartment has been flea free since the move, but one of my boys has developed dandruff since we left the old place. (He did NOT have it before, even with fleas in the house and on him) I've really noticed it in the last 2-3 months; it is mostly at the base of his tail. His coat is still shiny, but the flakes are noticeable. I brush them away daily but they return continuously. We've had no change in food, he gets a grain-free dry food and wet food every day, is well hydrated, and I've even tried adding salmon oil to their dry food to help his coat. Any tips? He does itch his head/neck/tail, will stop mid-run sometimes to itch or bite. I can't see any mites and definitely haven't seen any fleas! Has anyone else dealt with this and found a solution?

Gosh, if you are already adding Salmon Oil and he is still having this issue, then I'm stumped.   WHAT foods are you feeding.  Maybe they're actually too low in fat for his "constitution or something.  Have you checked with his Vet about this issue?

For how long has he been getting oil supplement? Maybe it needs more time to work. He also could have developed an allergy to his food or something in the new environment. Is there any discharge from his eyes or nose? it would point to allergy as well.

Like @mrsgreenjeens  suggested, it wouldn't hurt to check in with your vet :)

Hope your kitty will get better soon!
