Is my newborn kitten gaining so much weight?

My momma cat had a litter 5 days ago. She is a little over a year and this was her first litter. She gave birth to 3 kittens, sadly 1 died 2 days later. I have been weighing the other to every day. The big girl is gaining more than 1/2 oz a day the other was gaining 1/8 a day but lost 1/8 today. He seems to have a hard time finding a nipple. I started giving him kitten formula to supplement, and he seems to be taking it well. I wonder if me big one is gaining to much, she looks a little bloated, but is active and does never cry. Any advice would be appreciated.

It sounds like one kitten is stronger than the other and is getting most of the milk.  It is good you are supplementing the other one.  Still, if you have already lost one and another is starting to lose weight, I would suggest taking mom and kittens to the vet.  It could be thta mom has an infection and it's affecting the kittens.  It could be lots of things.  Not being able to latch on is serious and indicates some kind of problem.  Maybe you can help him by keeping the fatter one out of the way for awhile, just sit there at the box and let the weaker one nurse if you can while just petting the other one, or letting her nurse further up the line (the bottom two nipples have the most milk and re easiest to nurse from, and the strongest kittens usually claim those.  Kittens do get habituated to one particular nipple, so the strongest ones get the bottom ones and get the most milk.

Agreeing with the wise subbestions above, my comment is raise of 15g a day, is good, but not exceptional, so dont worry about the fatty girl.

IF she would come to be too bloated and get gases, so some simethicone (the same as for babies) - a drop or two to lick off your finger, does helps.  Mylicon is a brand recommended by SArthur2.

The other one is Alert on of course, possibly even Red Alert...  So good you started with supplementing...  What kmr do you use? do you have access to raw goats milk?
