My kitten was spayed 3 days ago. I kept the spot cover until last night. Now 24 hours later...when I checked on it, it looks opened & infected, but im not for sure. This is my first female cat. I will put a few pics of it on here so any info or advice will be appreciated!

Please do post photos. However, if you are concerned, it is always best to contact your vet.

Definitely call the vet and ask if you can text or email a picture of the incision. My vets have always given an antibiotic injection at the time of surgery so I haven't had any cat have trouble after spaying. Some take a little longer to heal than others. Is she acting sick? it's not unusual for them to be a little sore and just want to lay about and heal, but she should be eating & using the box okay.  Please keep us posted on how she is doing!

Any surgery can have its complications, including spaying. Infection is one of them, though it may or may not be the case with your cat. Here's an article we have on post-neuter/spay care and possible issues.

[article="30218"]Spaying And Neutering What To Look For After Surgery[/article]

Unfortunately, none of us here are veterinarians. TheCatSite.com is an online community of cat lovers, just like yourself. We can offer you support and our opinions - but not medical advice (that would be irresponsible). The good news is that the vet who spayed our cat is responsible for follow-up care so you should have no problem calling them. Describe what you're seeing and see what they think.

Let us know what the vet said and best of luck!
