I was playing with my cat, when he fell of the bed, landing on his tail with an audible crack. I examined his tail, and there is no visible signs of it being broken. He gets a little squirmy when I touch a spot near the end, but he doesn't really meow or anything. I'm wondering if there are any other signs of it being broken? It isn't swollen, hot, or feels like its broken. He is still playing and moving his tail. I would just shrug this off like its nothing, but that crack just didn't sound right. It definitely was his tail that cracked; everywhere else on his body is perfectly fine.

Iff he isn't exhibiting any signs of pain when you touch him, and is acting perfectly normal, then I guess I wouldn't really worry about it.  Otherwise, the only way you will really know is to have it xrayed.

Honestly, I would think if it were broken, he wouldn't get just a little squirmy when you touched it, I would think he would try to bite you, or at least get away from you or meow or something.  But if he lets you run your fingers all the way down to the end and you don't feel anything out of place, it would seem like he's ok.  I can't explain the cracking sound though.

Thank you. He is fine, and is acting normal still. The cracking sound turns out to be a button he had under the carpet...one of many buttons I should say.
