Good evening everyone,
wish you have a great Friday night first:D

I am re-thinking about the diet changing these days.
Re-thinking is because I tried to change Dobby's diet before.

He LIKES wet food very much!
BUT
he had diarrhea from the wet food (Weruva, chicken flavor).
His diarrhea last 2 weeks (until wet food stopped) (he still gained weight).

So I put dry food back to his bowl,
he tried to beg for the wet food,
but I wanna see if his diarrhea was from the wet food.
After 2 days dry food,
his poop got shape and form!! (from the dry food)
So I can tell his diarrhea was from the wet food.

So I dont know how to SWITCH Dobby to wet food without causing Diarrhea.

I did some research before, most cases suggest SLOW.
Does that mean I should mix dry and wet food together to feed Dobby?
(But I read some articles before saying dry and wet mix was not good for kitten stomach)
Or feed wet food for breakfast, then dry for the other meals?

Btw, Dobby is 14 week-old now.

Thank you everyone for sharing your experience:D

Many cats don't react well to Weruva (may be too rich) and get diarrhea when they eat it. It could be a good idea to start with something else such as Sheba or Fancy Feast.

Really? I thought Weruva was in low calorie, which shouldn't be rich?

When switching from dry to wet, the key is to go s l o w l y. It's just fine to feed dry and wet at the same time, but be sure to use separate bowls - getting dry food wet/moist can trigger/speed up bacterial growth.

Look at the ingredients in the kibble you're feeding, and try to go for the same meats to start with. Some cats have difficulty digesting some meats, so going with one you know your boy and handle is a good precaution at first - simply because you're making it easier to see what's causing the problem ;)

It's relatively common to see diarroea clear up when switching onto kibble. A large part of this is simply that the kibble is dryer, and this dryness causes firmer poop. Going slowly can help reduce any negative reactions.[article="31138"][/article]

Dobby has a problem that:

He likes the wet food right away, then he meow for more. Only until he knows that's what he can get for today (25% amount), he starts to eat some dry food.

Has anyone had this kind of problem?

Kitten likes the canned food right away, and doesnt eat much dry food anymore.

But following the instruction of going SLOWLY, I still should feed my Dobby with dry food though..

I feed him 25% canned food, and the other dry food. His poop got shaped/form and sometimes soft (or more than soft).
