Spaying my cat

I just had my cat spayed on monday they sent her home with a cone her stiches are disolvable.I have had cats all my life and they never sent them home with a cone. I am ready to take it off they tell me ten to fourteen days.Has anyone here taken off the cone before ten days? I feel terrible for her .

I never use a cone. Just keep an eye on her to make sure she doesn't try to pull her stitches out. After 5 days it should be half healed anyway.

Yeah I've never kept the cone on , I would just watch the jumping cause sometimes they can bust them.

My girls have never come home with a cone.  I just watch them for excessive licking and keep an eye on the incision.  Some licking is going to occur during bathing and getting the hospital smell off, but I've never had an issue with any of them post-spay.
