Hi, all!

My roommate and I leave a grain-free dry food out all day for our kitties. I feed Moscato her own wet food daily, but I feel better leaving the dry out for her because my schedule can be crazy and unpredictable and sometimes I'll be away from home for a large chunk of the day. She doesn't seem too interested in the dry food, though, perhaps because she knows she'll be fed wet and that's what she prefers. I try to give her two 3 oz cans of wet a day, one in the morning and one in the evening. Is that too much, too little, just right? Any thoughts/advice would be greatly appreciated.

The amount to feed all comes down to bodyweight, age and activity levels, along with a little common sense - just like people, some cats just need more calories than other to maintain their weight. These articles should explain things for you:-[article="31116"][/article][article="29717"][/article]
Basically, if Moscato is maintaining a healthy weight on what you're feeding her, then you have it just right. If, on the other hand, she's gaining or losing then (assuming her weight is correct to start with) you'll need to make an adjustment :)

Since she does have food available all day, I don't really think you have to worry that she isn't getting enough food.  As Columbine stated, it's difficult to tell you how MUCH you should be feeding her...you can figure that out based on the articles, but I would guess that the majority of people feeding wet food do it twice a day.  I, personally feed three wet meals a day, but I don't feed any dry.  And, yes, there are times when I'm extremely late getting them their "lunch".  They don't seem to suffer for it
