The vet believed my girl Monkey had toxoplasmosis. (They said they could do more bloodwork and send out to confirm, not sure why they didn't do that 3 weeks ago. I declined for now. She's been through so much so I want to see what happens now that we are taking her off the meds) She was on prednisolone (5mg once a day) and clindamycin (1ml twice a day) for 3 weeks. He said we could stop the antibiotic and start weaning her off the predisolone. She's made a huge recovery and doing well so she should be okay.
When I came home from work today she was hiding under the chair which she hasn't done since she first got sick. I don't know if she just wanted a quiet place to nap or if something is wrong. We haven't done her antibiotic since Sunday night. The steroid we are doing every other day so she had it Monday and didn't get one today. Could she just be adjusting to not being on the medication? She will get another steroid in the morning.
She seems okay other than the hiding. She's eating, drinking, using the litter box. She came out from under the chair and hopped up on the window and wandered around the house awhile. She napped in my lap awhile and layed on the floor and napped. She wasn't curled up tight. She seemed semi stretched and relaxed.

Am I just being a nervous Nancy?? I've read that it can take awhile for her body to fully recover from toxoplasmosis. At her worst point, she lost her sight, her face/jaw was so inflamed she couldn't eat, all she did was hide and sleep. So she's come a long way. Her sight came back and the inflammation went down, and she's more active than I've seen her in months. So seeing her go under the chair set me on edge.

Does anyone have any advice for me?

She slept under the chair last night, but she's back in her window this morning. I did notice her flinch a little when she yawned. She got another steroid this morning though. I'm a nervous momma

I realize this post was from 2016 but I was wondering if your questions were ever answered or if you ever got a definitive diagnosis. I also have a cat named Monkey who is 6 months old. He was recently diagnosed with Toxoplasmosis. They said it was probably gestational. He was neutered a couple weeks ago, chipped and got a rabies vaccine. He was fine for three days after and then became lethargic and stopped eating. He had a fever as well. They called it a fever of unknown origin and said it was either FIP or Toxo. Sent out for blood work which the vet felt cleared FIP so gave me Clindrops and said take for four weeks. A week later he is still presenting with lethargy and no desire to eat. This boy is scaring me and I wondered your prognosis for your Monkey.
