Oberon has dandruff. He always had it, but I only notice when I have time to snuggle him

His skin is all right, no redness. He is  far from underweight   good-sized which might be why he doesn't make much effort to groom his back, where the dandruff sits. Brushing doesn't help. I'd like to keep the shampoo and shower as last option.

I have no idea how old he is (3+).

He eats mostly raw food (adult rat/mice, baby chicks, pork, turkey, chicken, quail, occasionally beef or venison. There is plenty of fat.)

He hates omega 3 oil.

He gets decent exercise daily thanks to his mate Grisou, and to the feral upstart Geronimo, who occasionally needs chasing.

I've come across omega 3 in chews and am wondering if anyone has a good experience using them against dandruff?

Most important, which one is the best tasting?

I have the same issue with Darko...more so when feeding raw than when he's on canned for some reason.  And I tried so many different fish oils...salmon, sardine, anchovy, krill.  He isn't fond of any of them.  I tried adding them in very slowly, but that still didn't work well
I can't tell you how many bottles of that stuff I eventually tossed because it went rancid.

I've never tried the chews, so can't say, but I did come across this thread, and have heard nothing but good about Green Lipped Mussel, so I would be more apt to try it than the chews, personally:  http://www.thecatsite.com/t/321025/substitute-green-lipped-mussel-powder-for-fish-oil

mrsgreenjeens mrsgreenjeens , did you happen to try the GLM powder since you posted this? I've been considering it since I can't find an omega-3 oil that Buddy will eat either. But the omega-3 info isn't listed on the label as far as I can tell, and since Swanson apparently doesn't test this product for amounts of omega-3 (per their response to a question at Amazon, which I've copied and pasted below), I'm not sure what the point would be. Or is any omega-3 I can get into him better than nothing? ;-)

Swanson Health Products: "We are happy to help! Unlike refined fish oils, Green Lipped Mussel is a whole food consisting of protein, carbohydrates, natural chondroitin sulfate, minerals and beneficial lipids. This product is the freeze dried green lipped mussel. Unfortunately, we do not test the amounts of Omega-3 offered in the product as we are marketing it as a source of healthy joint nourishment."

Sorry to be so long in responding. No, I never tried this as a separate supplement. I DO, however, feed them Feline Naturals, which has GLM in it, but I don't feed it consistently, only the freeze dried as an occasion treat.

I would think ANY Omega 3 would be good

No problem. Thanks much!

I'm getting pretty desperate at this point to get some kind of omega-3s into Buddy as an anti-inflammatory, so I'm willing to be pretty open minded.
