We just got our furry baby spayed a few weeks ago after three litters, and she's been exhibiting over excessive scratching on objects in our home such as cardboard boxes and furniture. I was just wondering if this is normal or if we should do something to prevent it?

I honestly don't see how getting spayed would cause her to start scratching
.   That being said, my cats normally scratch on their scratching posts, etc. when they don't get their way (dinner is late) or something like that, so could there be something maybe your girl is stressed for some reason?  Is she wearing a "cone of shame" or anything?

How old is she?  And is she an only cat?   Guessing she just has a lot of excess energy so that is one way to expend some of it.   Has anything else changed in her life?

I think I'd start with simply adding some more scratching posts of various types and encourage her to use them all the time paying attention for other changes especially in eating and urination/defecation.
