Okay guys, I got another problem.

My outdoor kittens, two months old, one of them has descemetoceles, and I have no idea if it can be treated. My friend , a vet student said it is a descemetoceles, and can't be treated, but found something on the internet that there is a surgery for that. I asked a vet hospital here in Skopje, Macedonia, and they told me great news, it is way cheaper than other countries like England, France etc ( they told be it should take around 100 Euros, and with 50% discount because they are outdoor-street kittens, it would be around 50 euros).

Thing is, I am out of the country for the next 3-4 months, and they told me that by that time, maybe nothing can be done to save the eye. So, I am left with no choice but to leave him like that. What can you tell me about it? Does he feel pain and how can I ease it? Any suggestion and advice is very welcomed.

Thank you all!!!

Isn't there someone else who can take this cat in for the surgery?  It would be really a shame for him to lose his eye unnecessarily.

there isn't. Its just a street kitten,, so cute and everything, but I am travelling most of the time by plane with a low cost airline where they don't allow pets, and staying in a dorm where again pets are not allowed, there is no way to take care of him really. I begged around, but noone wanted, and my family neither. Its bad I know, his brother's eye already fell of, its gonna melt off. Now I saw that the ulcer is worsening and gotta say I am really sad , but there is nothing I can do. I gave everything I could to them. They were born by stray cat, she hurt them, and killed one of them I think, all I could do is love them, and make them a comfortable beds, and bowls, and cat house, and toys. But that's all really. I guess next time I come back, his eye will melt off too, thing is it's hurting him, but , he will survive for sure and is already used to one eye. That's making me to become a vet surgeon really and help feral animals.

As I said, it is not for e stray cat. They are in my garden and around the house. It is dangerous, but as I said, I am only here for vacations, nothing else. I wish I could find them help, but it is impossible. I think they are very happy being together, and that's more than enough for them, and they know that I love them, Love is more than anything.

Not sure if love is everything in situations like this. I presume they are not fixed? In the States we usually advise people not to feed to breed. In other words, don't feed a cat if it's not going to be fixed. Who will feed them when you're away?

Feel very uncomfortable because I have not helped this person one bit. Probably scared him off too. Hard to make a point online sometimes without sounding like a nag. :wife:

It's okay really, there is nothing you can do. I know we all here love cats, that's what the site is all about. I thought if there was a way to save his eye from getting infected, so when I come back for christmas I could take him to a surgery myself, but I guess there is not. He is already used to one eye, so, I guess next time I will take him for a removal only. Anyway I have my parents feed all the kittens, but they are busy people and this is a lot of responsibility. Just like every other outdoor street kitten, they will all lead a happy life. I love them to see play all the time, sticking together, sleeping together, brothers in arms you know :) it is so cute, and Plissken , even though with one eye, I gotta say he is the toughest one, but I worry a lot about him, cuz he is the smallest one, can't grow , i don't know why. And eats very little, and all the time chooses what to eat. Thing is, when he sees his brothers are eating, he is eating too haha :) But he will learn, and by the way they are not really outside, so they are out of danger, they are obviously still in my house, my garden, so that's their place. :) Can't wait too see them for christmas, I hope Plissken will grow up by then :)

Thanks again guys for the help and all the advice :)
