My 14-week kitten has just figured out the cat flap. He has had one of his 2 vacc injections but it's another 2 weeks till he can have his next. I really don't want to lock the flap as our adult cat needs to get outside to pee & poo.

Is it too risky to let the kitten go out? He won't be able to get out of the garden, the walls are too high.

Kittens should not be allowed outside until they are 9 months old, fully vaccinated, AND neutered.

Yes, it is too risky. He needs to be fully vaccinated, neutered, and older.

Also, if he happen to manage to get out - squeeze through a small hole perhaps??  They can squeeze through surprising small holes, you know?

Its easy happen he will come astray.  Run after a butterfly and its done...  Kittens have a very bad sense of where they do live...   Not even mentioning it will be defenceless against predators and mean people and mean boys...

Another danger with trying to squeeze is it doesnt manage to squeeze, and dies trying.  Such has happened too...

So, even if in your case it sounds almost OK, with walled in garden, the vaccine serie began, etc,  we almost never recommend for letting kittens out.
