My cat Lex is 22 years old. Over the past week I have been noticing her losing weight, which is odd because she is usually always eating. Today she really took a turn downhill; she is curled up in the cabinet, weak and barely wanting to move. Her meow is very weak. She is leaking fluids (I assume uncontrollable bladder). My parents don't have the money to take her to vet and don't even have the money to get her put to sleep (My dad doesn't get paid this week). I can tell she is in pain, is there anything I can give her or anything I can do to ease her pain? I'm a broke first year college student. I feel so terrible for her. Lex lived an extremely long and good life. I just don't want her to be in pain any longer. What can I do to help her?

Hi Kayla. So sorry to hear this. Did this happen all of a sudden from last week? Did you weigh her to have an idea of the radical change in weight? How about litter behavior? At 22, anything can happen, but is odd that she got that bad so soon. Try giving her anything she loves (treats, tuna can, etc). Try to be with her, give her love, let her know she's not alone in this and if she has to pass away, then be sure to enjoy with her as much as you can. Best of energies to you and Lex
