We've had Lucy for a few months now. She's almost six months old. We had another cat that recently had to be put down. Lucy had used the litter box (which had been cleaned regularly) but suddenly stopped a few days after our other cat was put down. Now fast forward a few weeks and I just barely glimpse some pink/fleshy looking stuff. So I pull up her gums a bit and find this:

I researched it and all I got was that it was a rodent ulcer that could be caused by a number of things. I looked at different pictures, though, and all the ulcers are inflamed. I thought maybe she cut herself on something? It's not bleeding, yellow, or scabbing. It's clean and pink. Can anyone tell me what it is and if it needs any medical attention or if it clears up on it's own?

I would definitely get her to the vet for a diagnosis and treatment plan.  It very well could be a rodent ulcer or it could be something else.  Best to check with the vet to be sure.

Always good to get kitty checked, but that is indeed a rodent ulcer. My first kitty had them bad. They would open up and bleed. I'm sure today they have something for them so def get to the vet to see what they suggest.

Rodent ulcers usually show up due to stress, so likely the loss of the other kitty has upset her. Lots of extra cuddle time and reminding her that she is loved and that her kitty friend had to go somewhere so she/he wouldn't be in any pain.
