So my cat is due any day I believe. For the past 2 days she stopped eating and drinking. We gave here water, and pedialyte.  She has just been laying around not doing much. Today she does not want me to leave her side, and cries until I come back. The "look" in her eyes is back today and she is suddenly eating and drinking on her own. I have read so much info online, and am so confused. We just moved a little while ago so we do not have a local vet, but I did call around and found one that has emergency hours just in case. I also talked to a local rescue to get advice(Which was awesome) She is extremely scared of the car. Our last vet was a mobile one so although I want to take her in, I am scared that may traumatize her.  So my question does this all sound within normal for a cat. I am just really worried maybe I am missing something. Should I just take her to the vet? Any personal advice or experience would be appreciated.

If she has began to eat and drink again, and again looks normal, lets hope its OK now.  Perhaps some minor virus, alike humans may have.    OR something hanging with the oncoming delivery - perhaps simply preconctractions. Appetite coming or disappearing in such waves isnt uncommon.   Its the rest of it which may be more worrying - if she is visibly "UNDER the weather."

Itis ts touchy, we cant explain everything its just the  pregnancy.  I mean, they can become sick even although high preg...

As said, if she is visibly better now, so lets hope for the best.  If she is still visibly bad, try to get her to a vet the first thing on the day.

Cats who are due any day do lots of laying around, and they can have painful pre-labor contractions before real labor begins. That sounds like what may have been happening.

Keep us posted on how she's doing!

Sounds like pretty labor. Make a corner area that's private with bedding for her to labor in. Sounds like she's gonna want you with her the whole labor. My footie cat was that same way with me. I was only 12bk then.lol

Thank you all for your help. My beautiful girl had 5 kittens tonight. Yes you are correct she wanted me the whole time. She had her head in my hand through each delivery it was the sweetest thing. Mommas and babies are all doing good and taking a well deserved rest. Thank you all again ;)
