My apartment is infested with roaches. what can i do to get rid of them?

i moved in my apt 3 months ago and about a month and a half ago i start getting roaches. new tenants fault, office knows where they're coming from. ive been keeping my kitchen clean but if i have to get up in the middle of the night i will check the kitchen to see if theres roaches, theres plenty! ive set homemade traps, it doesnt work. i want to buy store bought traps but it doesnt seem fair that i have to pay for items like that since its the new tanants fault. and im paranoid my cat is gonna get curious and get into anything i buy from the store. the office sends out a company once a week but its just not working. for a couple weeks im now finding eggs! anyone experience this problem? what did you do? what did the office do? how long did it take for the roaches to go away?

When I lived in NYC we had them. Ten years later they were still there. I was young & stupid then & I wasn't too fazed by them. I would DIE now if a roach came into my house.
