New mother not eating. Help!

Hi my cat just had babies also. She is eating very little, I'm worried she's still putting up a storm. Loves pets. She's still feeding her babies but I had to force feed her a few times. She wasn't very happy with me. I made an appt for Monday. Is it okay to wait that long?

How long ago did she give birth?  If she ate placentas she may not be hungry.

Is she drinking? Did you try offering her KMR?

It's been a week Tuesday. She has a dark colored lumpy discharge and only nibbling. Kittens seem healthy. They are getting bigger everyday. I have an appt to take momma to the vet in the morning. Should I take the babies?

I was home all weekend and I saw her drink once and only ate about 3.5 oz of wet food all day today. The discharge as I mentioned is lumpy and dark colored. Not really red like blood. She's still affectionate. She's been coming around for pets and love every few hours.

Do I take her babies to the vet with me tomorrow so mom can get checked? If not will they be ok alone for an hour?

Take the babies in the carrier too. It sounds like mom has an infection. It's good you're taking her to the vet tomorrow.

Please let us know how she makes out. She needs to begin eating more soon so she has good milk for her babies.
