My Special Domestic Medium Hair Maine Coon has been
having bowel movements with something sticking out from
a piece of feces. Upon investigation I pulled on whatever
was sticking out and found a nice size hairball. It's good
that he's pooping out his hairballs, but am concerned that
he might get clogged up and would require expensive
surgery. I do brush him daily. Anything natural and chemical
free that can be used. Anybody else onboard having a
similar problem. I know felines normally throw up the
hairball(s).

Actually it's normal for the hair to pass through and come out the way it did with your kitty. Daily brushing is very good. I have a kitty with longer hair and an undercoat and I use the Furminator and I think that has helped a lot. I get a lot more loose fur with it then I did with a regular brush or comb.

@Denice  Thanks for the helpful feedback.  Just ordered the Furminator.
