Magazines. It's time to recycle!
Or FreeCycle
I just got rid of some magazines through FreeCycle.
I loved coloring books when I was a child. Have often thought of buying some of the coloring books available for adults these days.
There's a thread here on TCS abot adult coloring: http://www.thecatsite.com/t/301902/adult-coloring-books

Tip: You can print coloring pages off the Internet instead of buying a book. Just Google Image search for adult coloring pages and you'll get a lot of results. The TCS thread also has links to online coloring pages you can print.

Don't have a printer so buying a book would work for me. Maybe I will try it.

I always colored with a box of crayon pencils. What do you guys use?

Sometimes I print out coloring pges at work

Maybe those of us with too many coloring books can give the unused one to others who would like them

People use a variety of things: crayons, markers, pencils, gel pens. The coloring thread has quite a few posts discussing the various types of things to color with and different brands. I use colored pencils. Marker tends to bleed through the page and ruin the picture on the next page unless you put something in between (thin cardboard maybe) to prevent bleed through.

I have way too many ink pens. I must have 200 or 300 of them of all kinds and colors.  Every time I'm in a store and I see something new I have to buy them.
One can never have too many pens or office supplies! I could spend a week in Office Depot and the pen aisle of craft stores. I actually cried when my husband got me a huge pack of multi-colored, fine tipped Sharpies for my birthday a few years ago. They were glorious.

My answer is not pens. Never! :lol3: I severely downsized all my belongings about 5 years ago (I regret it now), so I don't have a whole lot of any one item anymore. So, I'm going to go with cigarette butts in my ashtray. I'm back up to a pack a day, some days a little more than, and I am really starting to feel the effects on my body. I'm 41 and have been smoking since I was 13. I need to quit. I'm a recovering addict (10 years clean), and quitting smoking is the hardest thing I've ever attempted.

I smoked for 30 years and I found that the only thing that helped me quit was Chantix. I've tried everything but nothing else helped. It is expensive and it does have side effects but it worked for me. My insurance helped me pay for it and I did not mind the side effects. It was almost easy.

I was a 1-1/2 pack to 2 pack a day smoker for 20 years. Quit many times before I finally quit for good. And that last time, I just said, "That's it. I'm done. I can't do this anymore." That was over 20 years ago and I still miss smoking. I used to awaken in the middle of the night, and go outside and sit on the deck with a cigarette. And now I'll wake up and would kill for just one smoke. Marlboro 100s, in the gold pack.

In PA, a pack of Marlboro 100s would cost me over $7.00 now, I think. Plus, our health insurance would skyrocket; Rick's health insurance is based on both of us being non-smokers. I can't afford to smoke! I just can't.(And the money I used to spend on cigarettes now goes toward cat care, which is a pretty good trade-off in the long run.)

Wow, you quit 20 years ago and you still miss smoking? This Thanksgiving will be 3 years for me and I still miss smoking. When Muffin died I was driving home from the vet and I wanted a cigarette so bad. I would have stopped for a pack but I was crying so bad I was too embarrassed to stop. That was closest I ever came to starting again.

I live in MD and when I quit Merit's were $8.00 a pack and I smoked a pack a day. When I first started smoking cigarettes in 1968 whey were  25 cents a pack.

I have way too many cooking/baking items....
 *gasp* Is that even possible???
Rick would say "YES!!" Similarly, he would also say that I have way too many cookbooks, although I don't think that's possible either.

I also have way too much food in my fridge and cabinets. Whenever I get my pain pills refilled I do my grocery shopping and buy enough to last me all month and I just end up with way too food. My pills don't last me all month so I have to buy up food when I have them on hand.
Love pens! Pens of all colors, shapes, and sizes! I probably have way too many ink pens, too! There are times when I'll go into Staples and walk out with nothing but pens. Just so I can write like this.

Oh yeah. There are days when I would kill for one cigarette, usually when I'm having a horrible day at work or things aren't going right at home. It's something that doesn't really ever go away for me, although I've talked to people who quit and say that they don't miss it and that now even the smell makes them sick. Before they made the bowling alley non-smoking, Rick would come from bowling smelling like an ash tray. That I didn't like. And when my smoking co-worker comes back inside, I can always tell that he's been smoking, simply when he walks by my cube. Now that I know how I smelled, I wouldn't start in again. I think they were 40 cents a pack when I started, around 1975, I think. I was probably around 20, smoked for 20 years, and quit when I was 40....so I've been smoke-free now for over 20 years. But yeah, I miss it. A lot sometimes.

My MIL smoked for a long time and then quit. She got her nursing degree when DH was in his mid 20's. She got a job at a local hospital in the ER. Guess what happened? Going outside on breaks with the other nurses and the doctors got her smoking again. She used to bust DH's chops all the time for smoking. She smokes more than he ever did- still to this day and she hasn't worked in nursing in about 15 years because of an on the job injury. Working in a hospital got her smoking again. She had been off them about 20 years. :rolleyes2

Dishes.

I've been collecting Fiestaware for many years. Not vintage, but since the 1980's and I do have several pricey pieces. But honestly, we never really entertain much and I have service for 16 at this point!

I have a set of bone china for 12. Again, don't need it.

And, a vintage set of dishes similar to Fiesta which are vintage (gifted by a friend).

Add in several other pieces here and there. It's ridiculous. I keep threatening to sell it all off and get something new and smaller in pieces.
Me, too!  We used to do a lot more entertaining than we do now--I have way too many champagne flutes (mimosas at brunch, of course!), drinking glasses, silverware, all kinds of serving dishes.

Oh yea, glassware also.  I have way too many nice champagne glasses. If we use one pair a year, at New Year's, that's a lot.

Smoking is the WORST thing a woman can do for her health. Please stop!

I did the exact same thing. I was so disgusted with myself because I was trying to quit for the 2nd time. One morning I woke up after smoking the night before & I quit right then & there & never started again. Never wanted to either. Took me 2 years to quit, but it's one of the things I am most proud of doing in my life.
