Felix recently cought fleas (about 2 weeks ago) and since then we have used Broadline spot on. We use Broadline spot on every month as well. When Felix cought fleas he wasn't going crazy or scratching like mad, but instead he wouldn't sleep in his usual spot (my bed) and ever since, has now moved to various places. That's how I knew that there was something wrong with him. During this whole time, I've been grooming him and checking on him and have never felt the bump on his head. From what I can tell, the fleas are dying. I've been able to notice tiny dead fleas or eggs on the surface of wherever he was sleeping. Fast forward to today, and Felix comes home for the night. I groom him as per usual and instantly notice a bump on his head. I'm no expert but i'm fairly positive that the bump is not a tick. I say this because wouldn't a tick feel rubbery instead of rock hard? and wouldn't it be pretty obvious if it was a tick anyway? The tip of the bump is solid, and I think that it is a scab. I could even notice a little bit of a sticky substance around it (Blood maybe? it wasn't red though). I've applied TCP in hope that it is just a scab so there hopefully won't be an infection. My guess is that Felix somehow bumped his head onto something. Have you ever experienced anything like this? Please comment down below. FYI he's acting normal and loving, and still eating normally.
EDIT:
After looking at the "scab" more, it burst and a small amount of puss came out, followed by blood. Felix didn't react at all and I cleaned it up. My guess now is that this was just a bug bite of some kind. Thoughts?
