I'd just keep a very close eye on the cat for the next day or two. If your cat did eat the bead and string, it may show up in the poop so watch the litter box. If you see any signs of possible illness, then take your cat to the vet.

TCS is pretty active so sometimes posts get overlooked and no one responds or sometimes people do look at a post but can't offer any help or suggestion. You can ask a mod to bump up a post for you. Sometimes posts get buried at the bottom of next page of the board where few people may see it.

You posted at 4AM where I live in Central USA, that may be why your posts are late being answered there aren't too many people who get up as early as me! If you don't get answers you might post just a little more, like HELP! because that brings your post back up to the top.  You can PM me by clicking on my name and hitting private message, I am on here everyday at 5 AM Central Standard Time.

As for your kitty, it is very distressing to find something missing like that, the good thing is that if she gets 'off' you'll know exactly what to tell the vet.  Monitoring is the best thing to do right now, you MUST find stool in  the litter box, that is critical. String is especially dangerous (the worst is tinsel on the X-mas tree) because since a cat's tongue is so rough once it starts going down, it is one way and the cat can't pull it out and HAS to swallow it. It then can become tangled in the intestines and wrap around it to strangle part of it and cause a blockage. This will cause your little one to lose her appetite, become lethargic and stool will build up and stop coming. You don't know for sure when she did possibly eat it, so it may have already passed, or you might have sucked it up in the vacuum, you might check. If three or four days goes by and she is OK you should be fine. You are very fortunate to be so alert to something like this! All the luck!

a friend of mine had a cat that ate a ribbon that did get caught up in the intestines, and he stopped eating and drinking, his coat got lackluster and a quick trip to the vet and an xray (i think it was an xray) showed the ribbon running through the intestines, tangling them up.  luckily surgery saved the cat, who lived for many happy years afterward.

just keep an eye out, and if the cat starts having problems, whisk her to the vet.  sounds like so far, so good.  and good for you for noticing the missing string!
