We brought home a new kitten a few weeks ago who was up for adoption at our local vets office, and was appalled that he was feeding her Purina brand food which i know is total garbage with all those byproducts, corn gluten and menodine in the ingredients. We ended up getting a bag of the Purina dry food to try and gradually wean her off of it with a healthier brand- I picked Nutro Natural since it didn't have any of the garbage ingredients Purina had, had great reviews online and it was relatively cheap compared to some of the premium healthy brands. We also went straight for the Nutro canned food to start (we are feeding her both wet and dry since we are at work during the day) Does anyone here also feed Nutro Naturals and/or have any opinions of the food? The kitten version has grains in it, but that's fine with me for now since we are still weaning her from the other food- Eventually I will switch to grain-free when she can have adult food. I've done quite a bit of research on the top grain-free brands and it seems a lot of them have various controversial/mixed reviews from pet owners such as consistently making their cats sick with UTI's or having questionable ingredients (such as a lot of fruit/vegatable fillers). Nutro seemed to have the least controversy so I hope it's the right choice, lol... But I was also curious about the Nature's Variety Instinct Grain-free dry-a possible choice since that seemed to get all excellent reviews from health conscious cat owners- HOWEVER, it does have some fruit like blueberries listed in the ingredients. Any advice/recommendations? (Wellness and Blue Buffalo were the main controversial brands btw, so I'm kind of turned off by those ones for now)
