Hello all! New to the forum and I wanted to introduce myself. I personally have two fluffs but I live with my parents who have one; so three in the house.
My Mom's is Nightfury. Nightfury was found in a cardboard box outside the animal shelter on a holiday weekend when he was about 3-4 weeks old, eyes open and a little wobbly. We had stopped by to drop off some donations and found him. Fury was curled in the corner of the box and didn't respond to being picked up. Mom nursed him back to health with bottle feeding for a few days and then switch to slurry. He is now 3.5 years and a cuddle monster who is totally devoted to my Mom.
Then we have my older cat, Link. I was told Link was 8 weeks old and his Mom had died. Since I saw that same person trying to sale more kittens a few months later with the same story and he was probably closer to 5 weeks old; pretty sure it was a backyard breeder. But I love my little man and regardless of his background he is special to me. He's a very opinionated and loud cat who will bring you toys when he wants to play and is very protective of his little sister.
Finally there is my little princess, Rocket. Rocket was born across the street from me in a yard where the homeowner liked seeing kittens grow up and didn't care beyond that. I lost count of the number of kittens I saw running through her yard and nothing anyone said could convince her to get the females fixed or the kittens homes. Of the probably 30-40 kittens in two years there are 3 survivors to this day. Rocket's mom was the last of two females. Both had litter a few days apart for a total of 12 kittens. Both moms vanished after 4 weeks and the surviving male from the previous years litter took over caring for the kittens. When Rocket was about 4 months old the woman brought her to my house in a box saying since Link was the dad she thought I'd want it (Link is neutered). Rocket was in such bad shape I took her in and within a week all the other kittens were gone except one of Rockets litter mates. Luckily the two surviving feral's are males and the woman didn't bring in any new females so we haven't had more litters in the neighborhood. Rocket was sickly, flea ridden and way too small (barely a pound at 4 months). It took me 3 months to get her healthy enough for spaying and another 3 months after that of careful training to get her fully trained to come when called and stay in our yard. But now at 1.5 years old she a great lap cat indoors and will come when called everytime. She still is super skittish outside and deathly afraid of other humans but shes perfect to me. She adores her big brothers and loves to cuddle up at night.
