:wavey: hi I'm new here and looking for some advice! Our cat is pregnant she had an ultrasound done at the vets yday and the vet said she could she the kittens were all fully formed but couldn't say how many their was as they were all squished together. She said to keep an eye on her, as it could be soon but could be 2/3 weeks possibly. Her nipples are huge but not producing milk yet. I know this picture isn't the best! But could anyone have a guess at how far she is? She's still eating loads but today she has started hiding under the table where it's darker and more quiet, even though I've made her a nesting box up. Thanks!

Welcome to TCS! [emoji]128522[/emoji]

It's hard to say, but if the kittens are fully formed she could be close to the end.

Do you see kitten movement? Once you see it, kittens are 2-3 weeks away. Some cats get milk before delivery, and some after.

Here are some articles that may help:

Thank you, I'll have a read up now! Haven't seen any movement yet! Think I've felt slight movement but it felt like little bubbles moving/popping. It was like what I experienced when I first felt small kicks from my son :lol3: is it always normal to see moving? She's very dark in places on and around her abdomen so could movement be easily missed due to this or is it very obvious?

It can be missed in dark cats and fluffy cats, but feeling it counts too! ;)

Thanks! Ill sit and have a gentle feel later! I've just had a quick look at her nipples and they all have a white dot on the end, she gave me a little nip so I'd stop messing with her :lol3: is this a sign her milk is coming in? I'm sat here reading up on everything so I'm fully prepared! I'm sorry to bug you with all my questions! :lol3:

A white dot is a bit of milk leaking. She also looks quite rounded in her picture. She's probably within a week or so. You'll want to gather your supplies now!

Ask as many questions as you want! [emoji]128077[/emoji]

All supplies gathered now [emoji]128522[/emoji] Apart from thermometer which I will be getting in the morning. Pm here (I'm in the uk) I've been sat having a cuddle with our cat my hand resting gently on her stomach for a while on and of and have felt no movement. I'm now thinking the worst! She seems fine just tired a little restless and I keep finding her either in one if the 2 nesting boxes I've made (one is the old dog crate, she seems to love it in there but keeps re-treating to the one I added upstairs as she kept lying there seeming very content) but also found her lay on the floor in my bedroom. She's eating tons! But can't seem to find where she wants to be! Is all this normal and the fact I haven't felt PROPER movement or seen any?!

Are you able to keep her 100% inside and away from intact makes until the kittens have weaned? That's going to be critical to her health.

Yes, it just means the kittens are crowded or perhaps have dropped lower.

You can skip the thermometer. Temperature is not a reliable indicator of labor. If you do get one, use it under her forearm and add 3 degrees.

It's great you are getting all set now! [emoji]128522[/emoji]

Yeah I can keep her indoors, she's been inside all week now and doesn't appear to be missing the great outdoors at all! Oh ok, I may skip the thermometer! Thanks [emoji]128522[/emoji]

That's greats! She can get pregnant again within a week of delivery without going into heat. She may also go into heat when the kittens are young and try to get out. She has to stay in then too. :)

That's fine! Not letting her back out until she's been spayed anyway [emoji]128522[/emoji] I caught her nesting upstairs in my underwear drawer last night lol, and she's been hiding more and now won't let me touch her stomach (normally she loves a good belly rub!) could this be an indicator things are maybe going to start soon?!

It's certainly moving in the right direction! If she insists on nesting in your clothes drawers, you may want to put a towel in over your clothes to protect them!

I was thinking of removing my clothes and putting my old jumper and some tshirts in there for her to lay on and maybe birth on too. Is wrong I'm more excited for these kittens than when I was expecting! [emoji]128514[/emoji][emoji]128514[/emoji]

That's a good idea to put old clothes in the drawer for her!

I think being excited is a good thing! [emoji]128522[/emoji]

Hi all again our cat Has given birth to two undeveloped kittens stillborn. They have no fur and just a little dent where their eyes and mouths should of been. I'm so sad for her and myself. Shouldn't the vet have picked up on this? Wouldn't she have seen heartbeats? She couldn't tell us how many kittens there was as she said they were all fully formed and squashed together but wouldn't that of been the case ignored there was more than just 2 kittens? She's very happy eating lots and just resting

Aww, I'm so sorry. It sounds like those two kittens stopped developing at some point. It's sad and disappointing when this happens.

Is your cat still pregnant? It's possible she will still deliver healthy kittens. Has your cat's milk come in?

I haven't checked to see if it has comeback in yet, will check when I'm back home. She doesn't look a single big as she did but her one side Ian larger than the other "bloated" looking. Could that possibly be kittens?

Yes, it's likely another kitten or two. They may be born today, or in the next few days. If you feel the need to know, you could get an x-ray done at the vet.

Thank you. I'll take her the vets on Tuesday or Wednesday if no other sign of kittens and get her checked over
