That would be my guess, but I'm not certain.  If he still isn't eating in the morning I'd call the vet.

I sometimes have trouble waking Jasmine up for meals, but all it means is that she's sleepy.

He's usually all about the food.  The three of them always stand around me looking up expectantly while I get their food ready.  I don't think he's moved from his spot on top of the scratching post all day.  We went to a movie and came home and he was still right there, same position and everything.  John said the bowl right in front of his nose on the scratching post and he barely showed any interest.  Just a couple nibbles then back to sleep.

I'm sure I'm worried over nothing, but Mickey has me a bit concerned.  He isn't eating.  John gave him his soft food and he just took a couple of nibbles then went back to sleep.  But he did get his shots earlier.  So that's probably all it is.  Right?
It's not uncommon for cats to be a bit lethargic and off their food for up to a day after getting their shots.  Hopefully Mickey will wake up with his usual healthy appetite.

Connor and Murphy were the same way and I was every bit as worried and paranoid then as I am now.  But I have to take food away from him tomorrow night so he can get neutered Monday morning so I would like for him to eat plenty before then.

Same advice -- if he isn't back to normal in the morning, call the vet.  He had a worming today, as well, right?  That could also be a factor, but I'm not an expert.  If you're worried you could always ask to put off neutering him for a day or two so you can get him built up a little first, but go with whatever the vet says.

I hope he's eating by tomorrow morning.  If I don't get him neutered Monday, I'll probably have to wait at least a couple of weeks.  I got lucky - the vet had a cancellation for Monday.

most likely it is from the shots. I remember Artie being kind of out of it for a few days after them. If it persists longer than a few days, then I would call the Vet..

If you get a flu shot, remember the warnings about possibly not feeling well for a couple days after? I am sure it is the same thing with kitties...

Fortunately, since I have never had any experience with this, I was wondering about worming a cat...

We discovered a tapeworm in one of our rescue kitties at the shelter. Friday, She was given some kind of "very strong drug" which I was told would get rid of them. I do not know the name of it. I wish I knew, but it was second hand information.

She is isolated in her own cubby, does not come out because she is a bit skittish.

She had diarrhea the night of the pilling. Yesterday, her stools were soft but slightly formed. I looked and could not see any worms.. but what do I know??? never saw them before..

Her symptoms were explosive diarrhea, with some mucous, and occasional blood, and stinking to high heaven!! . We were told, but her former foster mom that a stool sample was negative (??) and she needed a sensitive stomach food because she is nervous about change.

She is the sweetest cat. We have to disclose her bowel issues to any potential adopters, of course they are not interested once they hear this.

We tried the food for a couple weeks, did not help much--now this 'thing' appeared..

My question for everyone is: How long does it take for a dewormer to work?  and how often do cats need to have a second or third dose of it?

My feeling is that if this poor kitty does not improve by Wednesday, then she needs to see our Vet with a new stool specimen..

We do have plans in place for that...

thanks for the help..

I am asking because I really need to get educated about this...

The cats are still on DST and wanted breakfast so they got fed at 3am
I went back to bed for another hour and then got up to get myself ready for work.

Never mind the cats, I'm still on DST.  It's only 1:30, I've been up for ages, it feels like 5pm to me, and I'm starving.

I do have to say that today is beautiful.  The sky is this insane blue, and the air is crisp.  I've spent a good part of the day sitting outside.

I had a cat with tapeworm years ago, and it was nothing like that. She started pooping in the tub, and there were what looked like grains of rice sprayed around. Those grains are the segments of the worm. If you don't see them, then she doesn't have tapeworms. It must be something else. Take her back to the vet along with a stool sample.

I'll consider doing that; I just hate doing things on credit.  It's too easy to get in too deep.

But my friend Sara has been doing this for basically all purchases lately, and tells me that she's made considerable money this way.  If I decide to go that route I'll ask her which one to get, since she's done all the research.

Thanks.  Margret
You can research all the cards on-line. If this is the first and only credit card you get, usually one with a big bank is the safest. If you already have a card with a balance that you can't pay all in one fell swoop then pick a second card with a really long (18 months) grace period with no interest and transfer that big balance to it. Then put that card away and pretend you don't have it, just make payments on it as large as you can afford so that you can pay it off before the grace period is over. If you still have a balance at the end of the grace period then do this again with a third card that has "no interest for 18 months" and transfer that balance. Then put that card away also and pretend you don't have it. Do not charge anything on those  cards you have put away. Just use the first one and pay for everything with that, including groceries and gasoline. The cash back piles up pretty quick. Just recently when I ran short and there was a bit much on my "first" card I used the cash back (over $200.00) to make the payment to clear the card's balance down to $0.00. I have done this now for about 2 years  and have probably had $300.00 or $400.00 in cash back. It shows up as "points" on your bank statement and those "points" you can turn into real cash.

The only way you can get into trouble is if you pile up debts on those "no interest" cards because you won't be able to pay them off before the bank starts charging interest, AND you have to stay within your budget with your first card and not take a bunch of cash out of the ATM machine as you then won't have the money to pay your card. I carry very little cash with me ($20.00) because I pay everything with my "first" credit card, even restaurant food (I don't frequent fast food places ever), and when I go to the farmers' market where they don't take anything but cash.

I don't blame you.  I would definitely go a different route.

I abhor moving.

That would be a really good idea and something I would love to try, but I don't have enough credit to get approved for a credit card.  My ex-husband really helped to trash my credit so I'm just now working on fixing it.
When I had NO credit at all I got a card from my bank with a$400.00 limit on it which is really small and worked myself up from there. You might want to ask your bank if they will take a chance on you with that small amount of credit.

The reason I had no credit is that I had gotten into trouble many years before and skipped out on several places where I had a balance. After that I paid cash or with a check for 20 years. By then everything had dropped off my credit record, I did not exist as far as credit. My bank took a chance on me and I did not disappoint them.

Going on over a week of being sick, and really getting tired of it!

Tried to rest this weekend as much as possible. Went to bed early last night. I think it was only 8pm when I went to bed! But I was REALLY tired by that point.

A few months ago, I joined Perfectly Posh as a consultant.  Mostly, I was "kitnapping."  I wanted all the stuff in the kit at the huge discount and if I made money off it, great.  Well, I had a few orders right after I started but I haven't really done any work with it because I've been busy and haven't really been that motivated.  So, today, my sponsor tagged me in a post on Facebook saying I was close to "qualifying" for this month, which means $200 in sales.  I'm thinking she tagged me by mistake, but I logged on to my consultant page and there's an order of $168.  It's from a local woman I don't know so I think she probably searched for local consultants and I'm pretty sure I'm the only one in the area.  So I'm sending her a thank you card and some samples.

It takes me a few days to get off DST
Meal times are the worst because I'm super starving but a meal is still an hour away

I don't like how it's so dark in the morning when I leave for work now
I got a cool really bright freebie LED flashlight from the local bank that I'm going to use to find my way to the bus stop and hopefully not walk into a skunk or coyote or twist my ankle in a pothole or something. Street lighting is very limited and very dim along the route I take to the bus stop and there's one part where there are no lights at all.

Today's Sunday newspaper had a ton of coupons for groceries, I guess for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. I cut out at least a dozen coupons for various cat food, cat litter, and general cleaning supplies to send to a local cat rescue
This rescue accepts coupons for needed supplies in addition to actual items on their wish list.

I've been kinda swamped in work lately and haven't been online in a while. But I thought it'd be nice to share a few cute pictures of my kitties. :)

Zazzie, Kiwi and Tesla all hangin'out on the sofa.

Tesla crawled under the blanket with me [emoji]128573[/emoji][emoji]128571[/emoji]

And this one is kinda funny. The way Tesla's fur is puffed out makes him look like he swallowed a bowling ball haha!

I know how that feels. I just got off a thirteen-day stretch of work. (I wasn't scheduled  for thirteen days, but I got called in on the two days I had off.) I'm still tired, but after work tomorrow (I've got work tonight as well) I'll have three days off in a row. (I'm pretty sure I'll get to keep them too; my manager was shocked when she saw I was getting overtime.) Your kitties look awesome. Healthy, happy, and not afraid of the camera.

Okay, I need some advice. Way back in the beginning of September my health insurance was activated, and they told me I'd be getting my insurance cards in the mail. The cards have not come. I've contacted the insurance company which gave me another number to call, which sent me to a third number which, for some reason, is run by an automated service. I've been trying for over a week now to talk to someone, and no matter how long I "hold" on the line, I can't seem to reach a human. What do I do?

I worked 3 weeks straight once
I worked two weekends in a row because the people who were originally assigned to work couldn't for one reason or another and no one else volunteered. Got the following weekend off and it was back to work again. Management knew I had worked 3 weeks straight but couldn't have cared less. No "thanks for working an extra weekend" or some sort of recognition or appreciation
The overtime was really nice but I was exhausted, especially since weekends were at least 8 hours days and involved going back and forth between two buildings all day.

I'd keep calling the insurance company and bug them about the insurance cards. Ask to speak with a manger or someone higher up. The insurance company should be the one dealing with replacement cards, not some third party.
