My cat boots came inside yesterday bleeding. How nose and lip were both cut and bleeding and he has various small cuts around his face. I noticed when he came inside that he was making an odd sound almost like he was snoring. He also can't close his mouth(he's had xrays on his jaw but nothing's wrong with it. He's completely exhausted and can't sleep because he can't breathe through his nose. I have no idea what to do and I'm very worried about him.
Any help would be greatly appreciated[emoji]10084[/emoji]

Hi, and welcome to TCS :wavey: I'm sorry it isn't under better circumstances :(

You really need to take Boots back to the vet. From what you're describing, it sounds like something is blocking (or partially blocking) his nasal cavity. This could be due to swelling (either from trauma or from some kind of allergic reaction), but there may be something foreign stuck in there, or even some bone from a fracture of some kind. Whatever the cause, this really isn't something you can deal with on your own.

In addition to this, if he can't physically close his mouth there must be something going on to cause this. If there's no fracture, then I'd wonder about (again) some kind of obstruction or maybe a dislocation...or even infection setting in.

Not being a vet and not being able to see Boots, it's impossible for me to say what's going on. No one here can provide a substitute for veterinary advice and attention. Call your vet ASAP...or get a second opinion if your current vet can't help you further. If it was one of mine, I'd probably be expecting at least an overnight stay for something like this. You don't want to take any chances with breathing difficulties.

I really really hope Boots feels better soon :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

I second the vet, and if you're not happy with the service from the one you saw, definitely get a second opinion. This doesn't sound right and I would hate for something to happen to your baby :( I'm sorry you're having to go through this. I hope Boots feels better soon.
