Hello!

I would like to introduce my kitten, 5 months old Russian blue Midori, who is the light of my life. I've had the honour to call him mine for 2 months, and I would already trade my life for him.

Midori is a very energetic and happy little boy. He has a 5:30 am activity mode that cannot be turned off. His hobbies include whooshing around the rooms like a tornado and attacking carpets. Occasionally, his owner's dresses can be added to that list. If he wants something, he is very vocal about it. He is also very handsome & has an amazing eye colour for his age.

He went to his first cat show at 4,5 months old and won Ex1, BIV, NOM and BIS ( if anyone here knows/cares about those). I'm very proud, although it was my first cat show as well and overall, I am not a huge fan. Since Midori won Royal Canin, but he's more an Acana boy himself, he was very generous and decided to give it to his best friend Barney (my parents' cat), because he thought he has enough food of his own.

I have never in my life met a more tender & loving cat. [emoji]9829[/emoji]

Welcome you gorgeous boy, Midori!! He is certainly a stunner but it's nice to see that all his cat show swag hasn't gone to his head and he still enjoys the simple things in life like a nice zoom around at 5:30 am [emoji]128569[/emoji]

I'm happy that Midori is so loved and adored as all sweet kitties should be. I hope you enjoy TCS!
Please feel free to share as many photos of Midori as you'd like...we love photos here!

Welcome to TCS @anettk,  Midori  is gorgeous, and it looks like he loves you just as much as you do him.
Love that photograph of his blissful little face as he snuggles in to you.

I don't know who wrote all the stuff on the internet and in cat books about Russian Blue cats being quiet and shy,
On the other hand, what they say about being loyal, loving and gentle can not be stressed enough.   Midori sounds very like Mouse was at a similar age.
In fact Mouse was such a live wire I didn't dare show him until he was over 2 years old because when his energy wasn't run off he was a bit like a coiled spring and I couldn't predict what he would do - like maybe bite a judge!
He is a lot quieter now but you may or may not be pleased to know he still has his silly hours where he races about, and is still a prize idiot who has me laughing out loud several times a day.

We have different championship certificates here in the UK and I am not sure what all of the ones Midori has there are, but feel sure one of them is Best in Show, and it looks like he is winning lots of serious prizes in the kitten ranks.  I hope he is enjoying his stardom and the opportunity to charm the judges - if he snuggles up to them like he does with you he is sure to keep winning those awards for as long as you want to take him along.

Hoping to see lots more photographs of Midori around TCS, and to hear all about him too:  how your carpets and dresses are fairing, and what new hobbies he comes up with.

Thanks guys!   And @MServant  I have no idea, his mother is just as he is! I have yet to meet a Russian blue that isn't vocal.

Hey guys! My sweet Midori is going to be 7 months soon and he's growing fast. The most recent photo of him:

I recently made him an Instagram account where I'm posting updates on him pretty frequently if anyone's interested. https://www.instagram.com/themidoricat/

I started posting him on my personal account too much, but he's just too perfect to not share with the world. [emoji]9829[/emoji] Cats truly are the best.

I'm also wondering if I should get him a friend one day soon.. Maybe the Oriental shorthair. Hmmm! Decisions, decisions. ;) At this rate I'm going to end up with a cat-zoo in a couple of years!

Wow. Midori is just stunning. That face is awful mischievous looking. Handsomeness like that definitely deserves its own Instagram account [emoji]128077[/emoji][emoji]128522[/emoji]

11 months! I can't believe this beautiful fluffball is soon a year old. This photo is untouched btw! Just my phone quality. His eyes are perfect by now. <3

He is really amazing, and so kind & sweet as well. We also went to some cat shows - he is a Champion now and therefore eligible to have kittens. So, in April and in September, we will mate him with two gorgeous Russian blue girls and then I can finally neuter him. I can't wait for the latter, as he has a bit of a marking problem lately, but Feliway seems to help a little. ^_^
